Sandy bottom pool SAB ?

Hi everyone,

My dh, ds and I are headed to BCV in August. We have been a number of times, but have not gone since summer of 2009. My ds heard recently that the SAB no longer had a sandy bottom. Is this true? Anyone been there recently?

Am I misremembering that parts of the pool are pretty scarce with the sand? Seems like the section next to the slide entrance into the pool didn't have much sand. But then the next section (I thought of it as the main section - where they did the games and volleyball) had a lot of sand - fairly deep in a couple of areas.

Thanks everyone for your replies. You know when I read the first replies that said yes they do still have sand, I thought the same thing as you Snurk71. I said to my son that maybe the people that told him SAB did not have any more sand were just in sections that seemed to have less. I seem to remember sections that had less too. I am just glad they did not get rid of it all together.

As I remember, there's a sandy area, the whole main pool isn't sandy. The huge kiddie pool is sandy, however.

Actually,the area in front of the rental booth is still sandy, too, at least it was at Christmas. They had a person there playing music and doing games with the kids there, and a bunch of us did the "chicken dance", and there was lots of sand there. It was funny--even people at the side of the pool, and in chairs, were doing the chicken dance. The kids looked amazed that Mom and Dad knew the dance!

Yes, I believe that is the sandy area of the main pool.
