I just bought a sandwich maker for my DH. The only thing I can think of to make is grilled cheese, and I'm not really a big fan of it. I would love to hear other recipe ideas.

Also, can you use other types of bread (i.e. those Pillbury croissants that are bought in a "can") or just regular sandwich bread?

Thanks!

The only thing I can think of are hot sandwihces. You could do ham and cheese, or turkey and swiss. My favorite hot sandwich is italian. YOu could do salami and provolone, or add some pepporoni and ham. Really anything hot.

What about fruit pies, you put some pie filling in between the two slices of bread.

ETA: Not sure if that would work, but it probably would. I was thinking of

like you would use when you go camping.

But after searching google it appears you have something more like this

I like making a pizza sandwich. Get the bread, fill it with thin slices of onions and bell pepper, pepperoni slices, cheese, and pizza sauce.

Reuben! I'd have to look it up to be sure, but rye bread, sauerkraut, corned beef, thousand island dressing, swiss cheese- butter the bread on the sides against the grill. Very yummy. :)

I second this! My kids love 'pizza pockets', and every time my 5-yr-old's little friend comes over this is what he wants too--even convinced his mom to get a sandwhich maker he liked them so much! I just put about a tbsp. of pizza sauce, a handful of mozz cheese and pepperoni slices if they want them in it. They are great sandwiches. Have fun!

You could get some cinnamon swirl bread and spoon apple pie filling in the middle and tahdah! Apple pies!

I am not sure if I still have my sandwich maker, but I will have to look now. Some of these recipes sound really good!

We do PB&J sandwhiches...or sometimes PB & Banana. If DD is asleep we sometimes make PB and Hershey Kisses. LOL MMMmmmmmmm

We've also done fruit pies with pie filling.

I also love my Sandwhich maker.......
I make a Tuna Melt... tuna with cheese

PB & Jelly
PB & Fluff

Pizzaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!

Pancake mix is good too, and you can put stuff in the batter like choc chips, blueberries, bananas (or even sausage links if you are so inclined).

My FAVORITE thing for the sandwich maker is leftover Thanksgiving dinner.... turkey & gravy inside the bread... YUMMMMMM
