DAY 8

Our last PS! 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian 8:30 am. It was pretty easy getting the the GF but parking is pretty far from the building, unless you get valet I suppose.

We entered the lovely room for breakfast! The buffet was yummy! I got my MICKEY WAFFLES that I have been craving and I feel in love with the sticky buns at Chef Mickey and was happy to see them at 1900 Park Faire!

The characters are wonderful! Mary Poppins, Alice, The Mad Hatter (who remembers dd from the Tea Party ~ HUGE thing for dd), Pinocchino and Gepetto. 15 month old ds took madly to Pinocchino so Pinocchino returned to our table about 8 times! Pinocchino would place his giant white hands on the table and ds would melt into them ~ a "10" on the CUTE SCALE! This breakfast buffet was only about $1.00 more than other breakfast character meals, but I think we got more. The food was great, the characters plenty, I did not feel rushed and both kids got a lovely GRAND FLORIDIAN travel cup with a straw, it's fairly big too! dd emptied her orange juice into it and took it to the MK for the day! I am very happy we did this meal. BEWARE: ALICE AND THE MAD HATTER ARE FUNNY AND NOISY!

We took pictures outside GF. They is still a lot of construction.

Off to MK for the last day!

dh and dd rode up front on the monorail earlier in the week and got co-pilot licences. I surprised them all by arranging that ALL of us to it for the last time.

They were performing safety tests during our ride on the monorail. The pilot stopped the monorail just outside the Comtemporary Resort (there are owl decoys on the CR windows) The pilot asked dd to make an announcement to all the riders! She said, " Hi, I am Emily from Canada, we will be moving momentarily!" Something like that, I taped it! It was remarkable! Another MAGIC MOMENT!

We spent the morning at MK knowing we would return that evening. ds feel asleep, which was always nice. He could do lots of tame rides, go to sleep, dd, dh and I would do the thrill rides, he'd wake, then we would do more family together stuff the rest of the day!

We went back to CBR for a fast lunch in the room and change into bathing suits. We just had to return to Typhoon Lagoon!

I hadn't done the wave pool at TL so dh told dd and me to hit the waves. OMG! It was like THE PERFECT STORM! When the GIANT wave hit I tumbled over dd! SHE LOVED IT! dd and dh did lots of things at TL while ds and I walked around and enjoyed the sites.

We returned to CBR to change and rest and off to MK at about 6:30 pm. It was to close at 8 pm that night.

We went to the Pinocchino Restaurant in Fanstasyland. I really liked it! I walked by it that afternoon during lunch and it was busy, but at 6:30 pm it's dead! The food was very nice and we sat by the window and saw all the people riding ITS A SMALL WORLD. I recommend this fast food restaurant! The chicken salad is GREAT!

We told dd to pick one last ride since it was about 7:45 pm, she picked Haunted Mansion. We all did it, and it got stuck LOL! It was pretty funny.

We walked around MK the last time (my eyes are starting the well with tears as I type right now) We enjoyed the tiny white lights sparkling in the trees in front of the castle, it looks like PIXIE DUST! All the pretty lights gleamed on the castle and all the buildings down Main Street. Tomorrowland was brilliantly glowing with more colours than in any rainbow. dd started to weep, she didn't want to leave. It took everything I had not to join her. This was her second WDW trip. During her very first WDW trip, her MAKE A WISH/GIVE KIDS THE WORLD trip in 1998, she cried as we left. At that time, thru my own tears I promised her that we would return as soon as we could. I saved and planned for three years. We even had another child during that time. People questionned our logic on having a "Disney Bank Account" and taking a 15 month old child to WDW. They questionned taking 7 year old dd out of school for 9 days. But when you see your baby's sweet tiny face glow during the BEAR IN THE BIG BLUE HOUSE show, and dd's ear to ear smile when you say "YES" to the "CAN WE DO IT AGAIN" question ~ it all makes perfect sense. I wouldl like to thank all the wonderful people I have meet on the DIS boards. Your help and support added tremendously to the awesome success of this trip. I will still come here several times a day ~ we are already planning our next trip! THANKS YOU! I am a yoga instructor and I always end my class by saying "NAMASTE" It's a Sanskit word (ancient Indian) it means, "I honour the devine in you, I honour the place where your spirit lives." As I close on my last WDW day, I would like to say to all of you, "NAMASTE!"

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! We found out the hard way about not using Valet parking at the GF. We had a very long walk in the freezing cold!

Thanks for posting all of your trip reports. I've really enjoyed reading them! I can't wait till August for our first family trip to WDW.

Sandra, your whole trip truly sounds like it was magical!:D

I also well up with tears when I say goodbye to the MK. When that happens, DH always promises that we'll be back as soon as we can, so that's the upside I guess! Lol!

Sounds like an awesome trip. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you for posting.... I allways get overwelmed on the last night too... Our son was born with PDD and ADHD and the thing I love most about Disney is all the Dr app and therepy app and stuff just melts away and he can Just be a kid and I can just be his mom... I think that there is a place where kids can forget and so can the parents is the best part of a vacation to disney. :D
