We would like to plan a trip to the Sandestin Resort in Northern Florida. Has anyone been there? What is there to do? Our trip would be during Christmas/ New Year's break. Thanks in advance for any info.:)

Our contract is still awaiting ROFR, so we won't have a member's book for quite some time....

I haven't stayed at the Sandestin Resort but have been to Destin many times, although it's been a long time. I will say that it can be pretty cold in the Florida Panhandle at that time of year (not as cold as most of the rest of the country, but don't confuse it with southern or central Florida weather). You could get lucky with the weather, but for me it's all about the beach, and I have no idea what else there is to do. BTW, Sandestin isn't on the Gulf but, rather, is on the bay. See sandestin.com.

Very nice, on the beach, and there is a bus that will take you across the highway to a resort area that reminds me of Disney. It has places to eat, shops and other thing to do.

VERY FUN VACATION

Roberto's Pizza was great.

We have stayed there several times. Our first trip on DVC points to Club Intrawest will be this May.

If you stay at Club Intrawest you get complementary beach chairs with umbrella and towels.

The shuttle service is great and will take you anywhere on property.

The golf is great too!

Don't forget to take the boat to the village!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

To do: mainly Golf, shopping and eating. Shopping: Silver Sands outlet stores, great prices www.silversandsoutlet.com
Baytowne Wharf has unique shops, some very good restuarants, entertainment and does a great job decorating for Christmas. Another place to go is Destin Commons, they have shops, restuarants and a movie theatre. During Christmas they have a giant tree that has music and lights synchronized on the tree. About a half hour West on Okaloosa Island there's the Gulfarium that has seals, dolphins etc. Also on the island there are a couple of night clubs and a pier that you can walk out on and fish off of. There's a place called The Track and it has carnival type rides and go karts etc. There is Deep sea charter fishing, sunset/dolphin cruises, boat rentals, Air force museum in Fort Walton Beach. The weather can get cold here, this past winter we had nights that were in the mid 20's, it all depends if a cold front arrives during your stay. Have a great time.
