Sand and Sun ~ Trip Number Ten Was Lots of Fun! Clearwater Beach & YC, August 2013

Duplicate. Sorry. I liked it so much I posted twice I guess! :)

Looks like a fun afternoon except for the heat of course! I really like those coasters, I bought the wooden spoon set that matches awhile ago and love them. I always find something in that little store, its one of my favorites even though its kind of small.

Our schools are closed again today, the boys aren't complaining about the extended Christmas break. I think it has more to do with the -28 windchill today than the snow, but we did get about 15" since Sunday. It takes a lot to close our schools too, we are hardcore here!:goodvibes

I just might have to get the wooden spoon set next time! :)

Our wind chill is about the same. No more snow though. Not sure what tomorrow will bring as far as school. I am expecting at least a 2 hour delay. Hopefully that will be all, we don't have to make those up!! I am still in shock that we canceled for 2 days. :faint:

I would do anything to be miserable and hot today!!!!! BRRRRR :(

I hear ya!!!! :cold:

Wow I loved this update! Maybe since I'm tired, I don't know, but I sat here in front of the fire with my coffee in hand reading it and imagining I was in the MK on a hot summer day and... I loved it. :)

Made me wish I was there, and dare I say --- I missed it. ;)

Sounds like someone needs so get a summer WDW trip planned ASAP!! I just happen to know an awesome TA that has some fabulous summer deals!! ;):thumbsup2

What do they make the MM head things out of in the bakery? They look good. I know the ears are marshmallows-- what's the head part?

I'm glad your ride on POTC wasn't awful that time-- at least it made up for it!

I know it was hot that day, but dang, I love a summer day at WDW. It's the best for me I guess!

Thanks for a great update!!

I'm not sure what that was - peanut butter maybe? Sure looked yummy!

Yes, much better POTC ride! :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed the update. :)

Hi Shelly! I'm still enjoying your trip report! It's making me excited to get back there!17 (almost 16) days!!! I'm ready for some warm weather!:rotfl:
Do you have your days all planned out? I have Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday all figured out but have nothing planned for Wednesday and Thursday yet. I figured we would just wing it those days.

Thanks Kait! :goodvibes

15 days for me today!! :cool1: I am so ready for warm weather too!! ::yes::

Yep, we have all of our days planned out. Can't wait!

Well, I'm not doing so well with getting this TR finished up before the upcoming trip, am I???

Things have been CRAZY busy around here. Apparently the new year has sparked everybody and their brother to book a Disney trip for this summer!!! I bet I have booked 20+ trips in the last couple of weeks! :faint: :yay:

Going to get an update posted now and then try for another one later this weekend! :wizard:

So much for a PTR for the next trip...:rotfl:

We went back to the YC and rested in the AC awhile! I spent some time on the balcony of course. Here is a little video I took out there.

Click on pic for video ~

DH then went to the gym and I took the kids to the quiet pool. We were only there for about 20-25 minutes before it started raining. We stayed anyway, but then it started to storm. So we ran for the back door and back into the building.

So we went back to the room to start getting ready for dinner. I had hoped to be able to go outside and get some family pics on the YC grounds, but the rain had other plans. It wasn't letting up. Again. :sad2: So we had to settle for some inside pics.

We arrived at Cape May for dinner about 10 minutes early and were seated within a few minutes.

Continued in next post....

Continued...

We had been here for dinner once before and also for breakfast once. DH is the only one who eats seafood, but there are plenty of choices for the non-seafood eater! I took lots of pics in here, I remembered someone on my PTR wanting details on what was served here, so here you go!

Everything was very good!

Up Next: YC and Quiet Pool at Night

We are looking forward to our trip to the WL in less than two weeks. I'm hoping that there aren't any weather related delays on the flights there and back. And I'm hoping for nice weather - sunny and at least in the 70's would be nice. :goodvibes

You can see the bad rain storm in the clouds in the distance in your video. The YC is not one of the prettier resorts on the outside, but the inside makes up for it. I think your room location was almost perfect.

We've stayed at the BC many times and at the YC once. Our room had a view of that quiet pool, and it was a really nice pool. One nice thing about SAB is that it draws all the swimmers over there, leaving the quiet pools almost empty. We like swimming in the BCV quiet pool when SAB gets too crazy.

Cape May is our one "must do" restaurant for dinner. We love the food there and eat there once every trip. I had a strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was so good that I had another one. :)

Nice family picture in the lobby! Your boys looked so nice in their matching clothes and your dress was very pretty too!

Sorry your pool time got rained out. :rolleyes2

Cape May looked really good! We've been there once for dinner and I loved it. I like seafood, but I agree, there's plenty of other things to eat there. I had a crab leg feast!! :goodvibes They had some really good potatoes, pasta and desserts too though. Have you tried the Oreo bon bons? That's kind of their specialty thing that they are known for (like Zebra Domes at AKL). Someone on the DIS told me about them and they were GOOD!

2 weeks for you?!?!?!?!? :faint: :hyper:

Congrats on all your bookings!!!!! That is WONDERFUL Shelly!!!

Hey Shelly! So glad your TR is still going on! I took a little break from the Dis, and now I have some good reading to catch up on :surfweb:

I can't believe your WL trip is so soon! I can't wait to hear how you like it :goodvibes We just booked our first Christmas trip for next year and are staying at the Wilderness! We only stayed there for a night in January, but instantly fell in love with it. We love the warm and cozy resorts the best, so it was right up our ally!

We ate at Cape May a couple of times too. My dad loved the clams and crab legs! I think that's all he had lol. We are all seafood lovers here so it's a good place for sure.
I love the boys' matching outfits. My boys haven't let me dress them to match in years. I miss those days. Surprised yours still do.
I can't believe your trip is 2 weeks away!!! It will be so nice to be away from winter, although it was almost 60 degrees her today. It rained all day but it was warm!!! Crazy huh??? A few days ago it was in the teens. Gotta love the northeast.

We are too!! :cool1: Hoping for no flight/weather related problems as well. :wizard:

It looks like it's only 67 down there today, but sunny. :goodvibes

Yep, just under 2 weeks now!!:banana:

IDK why the sudden surge in TA business, but it's been crazy! :faint: :yay:

Hi Heather! Hope you get caught up soon!

I can't wait to see how we like the WL. I really hope we love it!! :wizard: Are you staying at the WL or the VWL next December?

Cape May was very good. No one left there hungry, that's for sure! :)

Yep, not long now! We're very excited!! :cool1:

Aww- the boys look so handsome!! Love to see guys in polos and nice shorts. They just look so nice. ::yes:: Sorry it was raining and spoiled your plans of a family picture.:guilty:
I Love your dress--- you looked so pretty! Great color on you! Are you planning on getting your hair cut before the trip??? It was so long in the pictures from this past trip-- I can only imagine how long it must be now!

Cape May looked good. For a buffet. :rotfl2: No seriously--- I might could do that buffet- and eat the crab legs bc they are inside a shell so they're protected. I know I'm weird.:rotfl: I'm glad that your supper was a good one!

Yay for less than 2 weeks!!!!!pixiedust: pixiedust:

Thanks!! :goodvibes They weren't too thrilled about getting dressed up, but oh well! :rotfl:

I'm not going to get my hair cut before this trip, but likely will before next summer's trip. It is VERY long now and I'll be coming up on 3 years since I had it cut off the last time. I like to do something new every 3 years and donate my hair too!

Cape May was very good! ::yes:: You should try it sometime... Although I know you won't!! :lmao:

:banana::banana:

too bad the rain disrupted pool time!

I like the family pictures and agree that is a cute dress!

Dinner at Cape May looks good. We've only had breakfast there, but I totally could eat my weight in crab legs!! YUM!

I can't believe how fast your trip is approaching. It must be about 5 years since we first became January Snowbirds, huh? I'd like to stay at Wildnerness villas on one of our future trips. That and Boardwalk are tops on my list!

Your DS's look really good in their matching shirts and shorts. IT reminds me of the time this summer when my youngest brother and I accidentally wore the same shirt during a boat cruise for my oldest brothers bachelor party.

At least ya'll got a little bit of pool time before the rain got bad enough that you had to leave. Oh and the darn rain spoiled the outside family pics. The ones that you took inside are very good though.

It may have been me that had asked about dinner at Cape May. I've always wanted to go there but I don't eat much seafood since nothing compares to the seafood served here in Louisiana. It looks like there's plenty of other things to choose from though. Hum.....might go play around on the Disney site and see what's available.

That was me! I wanted the pictures of the food so I'd know if it would be a good place to eat for my family - DH and I are seafood lovers but our boys are not. It looks like there were lots of great options for everyone. Thanks so much for taking the pics and reporting back!

I love the pictures of your family especially the one of your boys.
