Sand and Sun ~ Trip Number Ten Was Lots of Fun! Clearwater Beach & YC, August 2013

I have not heard anything about offsite guests. I don't want this to sound snotty but I would think APs would get some kind of privilege, even if staying offsite. Ya know??? They aren't cheap!!!
I am so stressed about our Christmas trip. As of right now I'm thinking we won't be riding anything. We'll just be there for the decorations lol.
We did have fun. We surprised the boys with Ohana dinner and renting sea racers at the Poly. We also did the SotMK game which we otherwise probably wouldn't have done if we could've gotten on more rides.
We didn't do MNSSHP bc my boys are not into parades and fireworks anymore and that's mostly what you're paying for. Just not worth it for us.
Let me know as soon as you find anything out about offsite guests ok?
I did email Disney this morning to express my disappointment. I hope I hear back.

That is definitely very disappointing. I hope they get it worked out soon. I will let you know if I hear anything, but most of the WDW info I get pertains to on-site guests.

Sounds like you did have some fun experiences while you were there anyway! :goodvibes Glad to hear that. Let me know if you get a response from Disney, I am curious to hear what they say.

I got a general email back saying they received my email and that someone will contact me within the next ten days. We'll see.

AP holders can currently only get access to FP+ if they link there APs to a magic band well staying at one of the testing resorts.

After lunch we walked outside & around the corner and there were Phineas & Ferb with only a few families waiting, so we jumped in line. The kids weren't thrilled, but I told them to humor me! :rotfl:

And right around the corner from there was Lightening McQueen and Mator, with a very short line as well!

From there we walked through the Streets of America and made our way to the Backlot Tour. A new show was to start in about 5 minutes. There were a lot of people in the waiting area. They started letting everyone in and I could see that it was going to fill up fast. And what do you know, right when we got up to the top of the ramp the CM put his hand out and stopped us and said it was full and we would have to wait for the next show. So we stood there for another 10 minutes or so. It was hot, but at least we were in the shade!

Not sure what was going on there, but it sure was ugly.... I think maybe they were starting to put up the Osborne Lights. :confused3

Eventually we made our way in and watched the show and then went onto the ride. I really enjoy this ride!

Continued...

When we were about to get off the Backlot Tour the CM told us that LMA Stunt Show was going to start soon. We hadn't seen it in several years, plus it's rumored that it is going away soon to make way for the new Carsland, so we went on over. I didn't think the heat would be that bad since the seating was in the shade, but it was awful. Just sitting there not doing a thing and sweat was dripping off everyone. Gross!! But, we made it through and everyone enjoyed the show.

After LMA and being so hot we had all had enough for the day and decided to head out. We swung back by Star Tours since DS14 and I hadn't gotten to ride it yet, but the wait was something like 30 minutes. He decided it wasn't worth it, even though he really likes it. DS12 was complaining because he already rode it twice and just wanted to get some ice cream and go back to the YC and rest in the AC!! I told DH to just take him and I offered to stay with DS14 so he wouldn't miss Star Tours, I didn't want him to feel like he had to skip it just because everyone was hot & grumpy! But, again he said he didn't want to wait. So we stopped by Min & Bill's Dockside Diner and the kids got milkshakes and I got a frozen lemonade. I guess DH didn't get anything.

After that we headed out to the boat dock. Huge line of people! :faint: And again, just as we got to the front the rope went up and we had to wait on the next boat. :sad2: In about 20 minutes the next boat came along and we were headed back to the YC!

Up Next: Back to the YC

I can't believe they're getting rid of LMA. My kids really like that show.

We haven't been on Backlot in a long time.

Sitting at LMA can be really hot!!! Then when they're heating it up with flames and stuff, it must be worse yet!

Glad you got to do Backlot. I think it was closed when I was there last.

That frozen lemonade looks like it would be just the thing on a hot Florida day.

I know. We really like it too. But, Carsland looks pretty awesome! :thumbsup2

It was so very hot. :faint: :faint: :faint: We felt so gross!! And yes, the flames didn't help.

Not much sounded good that day for a snack. Even ice cream sounded gross to me. And that means a lot because I don't often turn down ice cream!! :rotfl: The frozen lemonade hit the spot!

 Lots of heat and lines and waiting this day for you guys!:headache:

I am still shocked at how much the boys have grown. They are just so much bigger than last December!!! I guess I shouldn't be surprised--- D is now taller than my 5'7" height. I'm having to look up to him now. :guilty: Anyway== seeing your guys with Mater it hit me again how big they are and it shocked me.:lmao: I still think of them as little peanuts!:lovestruc

I've seen LMA once and it was fun but dang I bet it was hot there with all the action sequences, and the same with the backlot tour when the tanker blows. geez.... I bet a shower sounded wonderful to you guys!

That lemonade did look good but I'm the same way-- when I'm just hot, nothing with any sugar sounds good at all. But I bet it cooled you off really good!

Hoping for Carsland in five or six years......

Oh and Happy 100 Days!!!!

Yay for 100 days!!:yay:

It must have been really hot that day. :scared: And not much shade in the park, especially at LMA. We were at the football game this past Saturday and it was brutally hot sitting in that stadium, so as I was reading, I was imagining how you felt that day. And I'll bet your August Florida day was hotter than my October Louisiana day! ;)

When DD and I were in DL this summer, we didn't get to ride Cars. :sad2: As soon as we got into the park, we went straight to Soarin', and by the time we got out, the line for Cars FP's was unbelievably long, with a return of late afternoon. We said "No Thanks" and gave it up. But later when I read how awesome it was, I was kinda kicking myself for not going straight to Cars for FP's and doing Soarin' later. Maybe I'll have a chance one day to ride it at DW, since I doubt seriously I will ever be back at DL. Have you heard much about the ride itself?

Those shakes and frozen lemonade look so good! It would be hard to pick which one I'd want!

Cute pics of the boys! Every year you can get them to pose with characters is a bonus!

Wow! I would not have survived that kind of heat! I felt bad for you just reading about it! I hope you have cooler weather next year. You probably will for sure in January! :thumbsup2

Can you believe that we have never been on the BLT? :confused3 Every year we try to ride it and something happens and we don't make it... or it's closed. I'm really hoping we make it this time. I don't even have a clue what it's about. :upsidedow

We might have to do LMA this time too since it's leaving. I'm very excited about Carsland though! I've watched videos of it in California and it looks awesome!

5 more days for us!!!! :hourglass We are getting so excited!!!! :yay:

I know that! That's why I'm upset.

Keep in mind that is only well they are testing, apparently they do plan to have AP holders get to use them letter. Well testing them that don`t want a lot of people using it so that the most likely reason they haven't let anyone besides on site guest use them. Also just as a side note Disney really doesn't care why someone doesn't renew an AP, its like if someone doesn't buy season tickets for a popular sports team there are always others that will.

Looks like you had a fun morning- especially getting 2 FPs!!!
We got back last night and I wish I could say we had a blast. Don't get me wrong a trip to Disney is never totally bad,but aspects of it were. Not being able to access FP+ really screwed us. The standby line for TSM was hour and half at 9:30!! The FP return time was 7:20pm!! UGH:(
It was like that at Soarin too. Unfortunately the rides were not the highlight of the trip.
We have been to Disney at very busy times of year (spring break including Easter week and July 4th) and we have never experienced not getting on rides bc we always had FPs. But now w FP+ there aren't as many FP left. KWIM???? it was really frustrating. So if AP holders don't get FP+ soon we aren't renewing them. I am so sad about this and very upset. I felt so inferior to everybody w magic bands.
Ok done complaining sorry about that!!

That stinks to hear about how FP+ is effecting things.

AP holders can currently only get access to FP+ if they link there APs to a magic band well staying at one of the testing resorts.

What resorts are considered testing resorts?
