On our second full day of our Sept trip, I have ADRs for both Sanaa and Y&Y for lunch reserved and def only need one. Which would you keep? Additional details of our plans:
  • We are adventurous eaters, so both menus are appealing.
  • We'll be sleeping in after MNSSHP the previous night and then having a O'Hana brunch at 10:30. We'll do some swimming too.
  • I want to hit up Animal Kingdom in the afternoon and I have it as our Park Reservation for the day. We'll stay there through close- I'm hoping to get in line for FoP at the very end of the night to see Pandora glowing. We will come back for AK morning time the following day.
  • We'll pick up dinner in the Tambu Lounge or somewhere back at the Poly.
  • We aren't regular Disney vacationers, so we aren't likely to ever stay at the AK Lodge and I don't think we want to come all the way over here on a later vacation day.
  • Our Sanaa ADR is at 1:20. Our Y&Y ADR is at 3:00.
I worry that the Sanaa reservation is too close to O'Hana and we'll be stuffed still, esp for the price. Plus there is no denying it's a pain to get there, even though we can grab a bus from the TTC fairly easy from the Poly. But will I be annoyed at breaking up AK time to eat and will I be FOMO about the animals at AK Lodge?

Have been to Y&Y like 10x and love it. Sanaa 2x and love it even more. I think Y&Y is a "no-brainer" for when you are in AK and you're not dining at Tiffins (even better). I think of Sanaa as an end-of-night or if you're leaving the parks to beat the heat, etc. I agree your brunch & lunch would be too close together to keep your ADRs as-is.

have fun!

We enjoy both restaurants, but feel it’s hard to beat watching the animals while enjoying the food at Sanaa. We were there for dinner and there were lots of animals. A fabulous experience as the zebras walked right in front of the windows. If you’re not that hungry, you can order maybe the bread service and something small.

I don’t think you need to do Ohana and then Sanaa so close together, and as you said it’s a PITA to get back to the lodge from AK. Y&Y is fine, or if you want something a bit more adventurous Tiffins is truly outstanding.

I love Sanaa, but I agree that your ADR is too close in time to the 'Ohana brunch. So I'd cancel Sanaa and keep Y&Y (or switch Y&Y to Tiffins, which is our favorite at AK, but we enjoy Y&Y too).

I can highly, highly recommend Yak &Yeti. We had lunch there on 7/3 and LOVED it. The menu is much larger than what is shown on the WDW website. There was 5 of us and we shared the Ahi Nachos, Fried Calamari, Potstickers, and Firecracker Shrimp.

Personally, I wouldn’t be able to eat a large breakfast at 10:30, then a large lunch at 1:30. Ironically, we had to do the opposite of what your considering. We were so stuffed after Y&Y, that we canceled our O’Hana dinner reservations. A kind Guest Relations CM, canceled our same day reservation with no cancellation fees.

Yak & Yeti is one of our favorite restaurants. We weren't as impressed with Sanaa, but we aren't very adventurous eaters. We do love Ohana breakfast, but I can't imagine eating anything until dinner after having a 10:30 AYCE breakfast.

If it were me I would do Yak and Yeti. You’re already going to be in the park and if you aren’t very hungry after O’Hana you can just do apps. You can always get a Landrys card and go to Yak and yeti later when you my be more hungry.

I love, love, love Y&Y and I really love Sanaa. If not staying at AKL, it feels to me like it takes too much time out of a day to do a midday ADR (though DAK's hours were usually shorter when I've been - my recent trips did have the longer hours). If it's a matter of food type/preference, lean with that as they're both good/great. Ambience - Sanaa is certainly a nicer, calmer spot and if you've never been - it's really cool. I also want to put in a plug for Landry's. My birthday was in the month I traveled after signing up - so I had two bonuses (couldn't be used together and you have to pay attention to whether any expire, etc) which allowed me to do Y&Y and Rainforest (or something back home). So, if cost is a factor - keep that in mind (and it's helpful re: ADRs, etc). If it were me, I'd end up at Y&Y (I personally didn't find the food at Sanaa to be better than I could get where I live - and while there's something similarly true about it for Y&Y, I honestly really love a good salad and my town has no good salad places. Plus the wonton dessert (and I am so much more into fruit, etc than chocolate). Just my preferences!

Really like both.
I think both are too close to your brunch ADR. Doubt you will be hungry.
If you can't move one later, I would do Y&Y and just do appetizers.
Also, if you plan to stay in AK for awhile, you will still spend a lot of time with transportation to Sanaa and back.

Sanaa was wonderful. I still think about the bread service years later..Id go out of my way to go again no question. Yak was highly anticipated and hmmm nothing special on our visit. ..bit of a let down

Both have good food at relatively good prices, but Sanaa is more of an experience than Y&Y. I personally love watching the animals while dining there and so I just can't compare that to having a meal, however delicious, at Y&Y. Sanaa reservations free up all the time so pushing it back a little wouldn't be too hard. And as someone noted you can get the bread service and share a curry or salad sampler to have a lighter lunch, something that's a little harder to pull off at Y&Y.

As people noted, getting to and from Kidani is a time commitment, and if the question were whether its worth spending all that time to get lunch then the answer is no, but if the question is whether its worth that time to have that particular experience, than I would say yes, absolutely.

We ate at both this trip. Yak and Yeti is fine but Sanaa is one of our favorites on property. However, I don't know that I'd leave AK to go there.

I agree with those who are suggesting you go to Tiffin's instead.
