Sanaa- great meal..and we tried it twice just to make sure!

I agree with your wonderful review. When I was there the beginning of June they had a "Culinary Tour" at 4:00 PM. They explained the design elements and artifacts in the restaurants. Then we went to the bar and a Chef came out to talk to us about the menu. We were served some naan bread and sauces. It's like the Tour that Jiko/Boma offers.

great review...I just showed my husband the pictures and now he wants me to add it to our list of new restaurants to try on the Dec trip. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, I am asking if anyone going to Sanaa in the near future could ask if a CM named MARY(from Cape May at the BC) is serving there?? My family has know Mary from Cape May for YEARS and when we were at the BC in July we heard that Mary had moved to Sanaa?? But we were unable to get over to Sanaa to see her:sad2:. Mary is a WONDERFUL server and a GREAT CM!! IMHO she is one of those CM's that truely makes DISNEY MAGICAL!! :goodvibes Last time we saw her was 2/09,her DH was selling DVC and her DS worked at DL or on DCL. PLEASE say HI from JIM and Joan from Rhode Island!! We will try to see her when we visit WDW in November!! Thanks so MUCH!! Joan

We loved Sanaa in May and are going back in September - I agree the lime pickle (I think that's what you said - that's what it looked like!) is a very aquired taste :scared:

I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope they keep the menu similar. Did you get a 'Savanna view' table? I was thinking of asking for this but wouldn't want a long wait.

We didn't but we did not have and ADR for either trip and we did not want to wait. I would say though if you made an adr and a request it would be pretty easy to get a window seat. The good news is we were prety far away from the windows and could still see the savannah.

So glad I found this thread!

The portion sizes look small -- are they?

No not really. We ate there forlunch both times somaybe that's why they are a bit smaller. My meal (the short ribs & curry with rice) was very filling and dh had to share but I would imagine that dh would still be hungry with the chicken sandwich if that is all he had for dinner. I am sure it is a bit different for dinner:confused3

u took some great pics now i'm even more excited about trying Sanaa than before! I love that u tried the samosas -thats my most favorite app at Indian restaurants ever (i'm pretty sure I ate at least 50 combined during my second pregnancy :rotfl:) and those look yummy. Great Review :goodvibes

What a great tip! I'm calling now to see if this is available when we go -- we have Sanaa booked twice.

I called about the tour -- thanks again for the tip. They are now calling it an "art tour" -- it sounds as though they do not guarantee that the chef or menu review will be included.

Either way, it really sounds wonderful, and we're planning to go -- we have early reservations at Sanaa our first night, so we'll go a little earlier to take the tour.

It's at 4:00 every day - no reservation needed for the tour only, just show up.

Fun.

your photos and reviews are wonderful....and thanks for taking the time to let us see this one up close ...

Appreciate the review!!

Getting a little frustrated - seems no matter what day.time I pick for dinner (on the online Disney dining website) there are never any spots available. Wonder if I'd have better luck with lunch? :confused3

I had problems too with Sanaa. I ended up calling and was able to get an ADR.
