San Francisco hotels for 6

Anyone have any hotel suggestions that can accommodate 6? That aren't unreasonably priced? Or has anyone used VRBO in the area with good luck?

I've stayed at the Sheraton on the Wharf, I'm not sure if they sleep 6 though - recommend.
A friend has stayed at Pier 2620 again I don't know if it will sleep 6 - recommend.
Another friend has stayed at Columbus Motor Inn which does sleep 6, she recommends it for larger families on a budget but advises it isn't flashy, and a little run down. I think they have a few family rooms but unsure what the bed configuration is like - maybe a pull out sofa in the lounge.

5 seems to be the magic number, and even then it might just be a more expensive suite. This gives some options for 6, but is mostly listing rooms where 5 is allowed.

Joined hotel rooms might cost less. Does it have to be in San Francisco, or just nearby?

We are a family of 5 - I usually look for a Residence Inn near where I want to be. They have decent size rooms and kitchens, also usually have free breakfast!

It was about 30 - 40 minutes outside the city. Easy ride into the city. We had a two bedroom. We were only a party of four but I believe the couch pulled out. It was very clean and comfortable. The area was nice and close to stores etc. Breakfast could be a bit crowded so I suggest getting there early in the morning. Overall, great place that I would stay at again.
