We are planning a trip o CA in June. We have 13 year old triplets and are having a difficult time finding a hotel in SF that can accommodate our family. We would like to visit Fisherman's Wharf, take a cable car ride, see the Golden Gate Bridge and maybe visit Alcatraz. Any suggestions?

How many nights? What month? What are your other requirements? You can expand your search across the bay, or get 2 rooms. You're not going to find a room for 5 adults near Union Square, and I'm assuming you're not going to San Francisco to stay by the airport. You might find a motel near Fisherman's Wharf, but generally, 1 room for 5 people is a tall order.

There are only three of us but we have booked a studio for the same price as a hotel room - staying in San Francisco :)

We are travelling from the UK and used www.homeaway.co.uk but I assume there are other sites you can use :thumbsup2

The Sir Frances Drake has rooms that will accommodate your family. They've changed the names/categories of their rooms, but they show it on-line. If I weren't on my phone, I'd look it up for you.

When we went to visit SF, we had 5 people in our group and couldn't find anything in SF that would be able to accomadate us at a reasonable price that was able to fit our large suv in their parking garage. With that said, we ended up booking a suite outside of SF proper and it worked out well. It was about 15 minutes from the city and we got a way better deal.

As far as where you want to visit, those are basically the usual tourist spots and I basically plotted out all of the parking locations that we could use close to the tourist locations so we were worried about driving into the city everyday.

Of course, there is something to be said about staying in SF proper and hearing all of the noise and being able to just go downstairs and be in the city. You may need to think about getting two rooms or search hotels with suites or go farther out like we did.

Hi our family of 6 (2 adults 4 kids) stayed at Holiday Inn Express Fishermans Wharf, in a family suite. It was clean, affordable and close to everything. We thought it was great and it fitted us all comfortably. we didn't have a car so we didn't have to worry about parking.

Both the Holiday Inn Express and the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf have rooms (suites) that accommodate 5.

We too stayed in a suite at the Holiday Inn Express Fisherman's Wharf, it was really spacious. It had two queen beds and a pull out couch.

It was withiin walking distance of the cable cars and Fisherman's Wharf.

You can not swim there if that is important to your family they make you go to the Holiday Inn up the block. We were going to swim anyway too much else to do when we were there.
