San Fran Accommodation for 5?!

Any thoughts or ideas on places in San Francisco to sleep 5 (3 adults 3yr old and 1yr old) that are a reasonable price?

Also open to 2 connecting rooms if price is reasonable.

Have found the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn express as reasonable. Anyone stayed there recently???

Have you thought of renting a house or apartment? I am currently staying in a two bedroom apartment two blocks from the Holiday Inn at Fisherman's Wharf for only $20 more than a room with two doubles and a sofa bed there would have cost me. More than making up for it with the kitchen.
