Is it worth going to both while in San Diego? Or pick 1? My DD is 7 years old.

IMO, it kind of depends on how long your stay in SD is, and/or how much your family likes wild animals.

If you have a brief stay, I would suggest the zoo, simply because it's "world famous", and we have a baby panda. :) If you are coming in the summer, the zoo will be much cooler than the Wild Animal Park, which gets some of the hottest temps in San Diego County.

If you are going to be in San Diego for more than a few days and have some time to spare, or your DD is obsessed with wild animals, then the WAP is a good option in addition to the zoo.

If I had to choose 1, it would be the zoo, but I do love the WAP and its beautiful scenery and unique and natural animal habitats.

That's just my opinion. :)

I have been to the zoo three times, but have never seen the Wild Animal Park. I have a 6 year-old Princess. She enjoyed Animal Kingdom in Orlando. What can you tell me about the WWP.

Thanks

Bill

One weekend a number of years ago, I did WAP, the zoo and Sea World in 3 days with my then 6-year-old godson. I last went to WAP about 2 summers ago with a 9-year-old and 7-year-old. We stayed from about 11 or so till 9 that night. (They are open late in the summer.) We rode the tram twice--once in the daytime and again at night. There's a playground for kids, a really small area to get wet at and shows. They had a great time.
