San Diego Questions

Hi there...just some SD Questions...we arrive for our vacation Friday June 24th in San Diego and will be there until Monday June 27th in the evening before driving up to DL for the remainder of vacation (until July 3rd)

In SD we are staying at the Pacific Terrace Hotel and will do the zoo, padres game, seaworld and Lego land on the way to Anaheim.

I think a trolley tour is also included in package...should we do this?

Other spots not to miss? Dining recommendations for family of 4 (2 boys, ages 10 & 5)..thanks

That Sounds like a good Itinerary.

If you like Museums at all, I recommend spending some time in Balboa park besides just at the Zoo. It's beautiful architecture and grounds in addition to excellent museums (Particularly space and aviation) Plus if your kids like trains, they have a Model Railroad museum which is pretty cool.

Other sites you might want to consider would be a harbor cruise and the U.S.S. Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum.


As for food, I really can't help with family fare down town, but up by Legoland, Claimjumpers is pretty good.

I am a local and we love the trolley ride. Best place to get on is at Old Town. It is one round trip, however, you can get on and off at the various stops. When done with your trip, go to Bandinis. It is less than a block walking distance from the trolley stop in Old Town. It is the best Mexican food around.
