Wondering about recommendations for a hotel in San Diego. We will be visiting in the summer with 2 adults and 2 children (ages 3 and 1). Would like a hotel that is nice and child friendly. Will be visiting Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Aquatica and Old Town. Don't mind driving a little bit if it is a much better deal or much nicer hotel. Otherwise prefer to be centrally located.

We are currently looking at Embassy Suites San Diego - La Jolla and Hyatt Mission Bay. Opinions? Where else should we consider?

Thanks!

La Jolla, although lovely, is somewhat isolated as a base for what you want to be doing.

Hyatt Mission Bay is lovely and fairly central.

Embassy Suites is centrally located in Downtown San Diego and is a fine place to stay with plenty of dining and entertainment options (check out our awesome children's museum) that you can walk to.

Best to stay away from Hotel Circle in Mission/Fashion Valley.

We stayed a night at the Embassy Suites before a flight home. Good breakfast buffet and a great location. We also have stayed several times at the Hyatt across the street. They sometimes have a pay for 3 get the 4th free deal on the website.

Favorite Hotel by far is the Marriott Hotel and Marina in Downtown San Diego. Amazing views of Coronado/Bay/Ocean. They have a very nice pool and are centrally located. There is a boardwalk that's directly behind the hotel that leads to Seaport Village.
