I am a bit picky when it comes to certain foods. I want to eat in Mexico but I am afraid I won't find something on the menu. Will they make a chicken quesedilla that is mild even though that is not a menu item?

San Angels is one of those love-hate restaurants here on the Dis.

Yes I has read all the bad reviews but still wanted to try this restaurant. Myself, DH, Grandson 12 and Granddaugter 8.

Grandchildren and I were not disappointed, DH was not crazy about his dish. I had made an early PS and requested a water view seat. We ordered appetizers Queso Fundido (for 2), Nachos and the Mixed Green Salad. GD ordered Chicken Strips from the children menu. All were very good. The kids ordered smoothies. I had a margarita (yummy) DH ordered the Soup (ok) Mahi Mahi not good not bad just ok and a Mexican Beer.

If you are looking for Mexican food then try San Angels.

Remember the restaurant is dark and can get very crowded. This can sometimes make for an un-enjoyable dinner. I do think the lunch menu is better then the dinner menu and a lot cheaper. We chose to have dinner and did enjoy it. My PS was for 5:00pm we had had a big breakfast, did not eat lunch and choose a early dinner.

I would return, don't think DH would.

There is a chicken quesadilla on the childrens menu so I assume you can order it.

I love this restaurant. It is a must for me every time I visit the World. The atmosphere cannot be beat. Try it for lunch. You'll be able to get a water-view seat, it should be relatively quiet and it will be less expensive.

We love San Angel Inn...and, I believe there are quesadillas on the appetizer menu...which my daughter orders for her meal.

My wife and I went for lunch last October. I am real skeptical when it comes to Mexican restaraunts, because I'm usually worried they won't have something I will like.

However, I love the inside ambiance, with the dark setting, river and volcano in the background. We tried it, and I figured I could snack on chips and salsa w/ a maragarita if there wasn't anything on the menu.

To my surprise, this place was very good. There were actually a couple of things on the menu that looked appetizing.

My only complaint - the waitress takes away your bowl of salsa when your meal comes. She did this to us and I saw her do this to another couple. They don't take your chips, but they take your salsa??? I thought this was odd, so I asked for another bowl of salsa and she brought me some. Anyone know why they do this?

Don't take my salsa! :p

We love it too and eat there every trip. Beware of the kissing bandit though! Here's his mug shot below. Just after this photo his kissed me dead on the lips.

Thanks. I guess I will give it a try and ask for the most Mexican thing I eat, a non-spicey, chicken quesedilla! We will see what happens!:p
