:wizard: For the past few years we've skipped the San Angel Inn because things had really tanked there.....food and service were terrible. Has anyone been there lately and if so, how was it? Has the menu been updated? We have 2 more ADRs to make for our August trip and were wondering if we should consider SAI again.

We used to go every trip but after reading so many negative reviews we skipped this place our last trip(7/2008).
We really liked this restaurant and I have been reading some good things about it again! So we decided to try it when we return in July! It looks like we will be there before you (did I read you're going in August?). I say give it a try! I actually made my ADR for this restaurant yesterday, only 33 days out, with no problem.
Have a great trip!!!:goofy:

We're always willing to re-try a place after taking it out of our rotation for a few years if we have a poor experience. Staff and chefs change, and ANY restaurant can miss the mark for a given patron on any given day. We had a wonderful experience at SAI last year and are going again in Nov.

We'll be dining there in late June. I never go in with high expectations, and look at how Marrakesh turned out, wow! A restaurant always has their good days, and bad days.

We ate there in March, walk in with a 12 min wait. We loved it. Service was great, food excellent and the atmosphere very relaxing. DW started off her DATW with a margarita. That evening she finished her DATW with an ale at the other end of WS. (however she didn't have any between the two points! :rolleyes1: ).

We liked SAI so much, we've ADR for our trip in Sept.

I ate there this past Saturday and I loved it. We are going again in September, heck if I can squeeze it in we may go once more in between. I had never dined at San Angel due to negative reviews. Now that we don't live to far (three hours south) we figure we are going to do all of WS restaurants. I am soooo glad we tried this place. The food was good, the service was terrific our waitress was on top of things. Our food was hot and she refilled our drinks without asking. I ordered the Pollo A Las Rajas and it was great. The chicken was very tender and I loved the rice. My DH and DS both ordered the Enchiladas Verdes de Pollo without the Pollo they asked for ground beef and it was no problem. I tried them, in fact I ate half of them because my DS didn't really care for them, but he is VERY fussy he did like the rice and ate that. My other DS ordered the Tacos de Ribeye and he loved them. We would all go back again (younger DS said he's ordering chicken fingers off the kids menu next time) if you have anymore questions let me know. I took pictures too if you'd like to see any of the things we ate.

I say give a try. I really liked it. We lucked out with a table against the wall so we didn't feel cramped. The tables in the restaurant look very congested. We ate at lunch and they were turning away walk-ins.

We ate there is Feb '10 and it was easily the worst meal of the trip, food quality-wise and service-wise. Took WAY too long. Atmosphere, however, was lovely and relaxing.
