I would like to try one of the restaurants in the Mexico area of Epcot but I can't decide between San Angel Inn and La Hacienda San Angel.

I think I like the decor and ambiance of the SAI but when I look at the menus I see something on both that would make me happy. (Although, the tacos de camarones at La Hacienda sound really delish!)

Any opinions on which you would choose? It is just my teen daughter and I so this isn't a romantic dinner by any means.

Thanks!

Ive eatten at SA many times..While my experience in 2008 was less than stellar I say SA is a must do atleast once, just for the theming. I also hear that the food and service has greatly improved since then anyway..

I guess youll have to decide, do you want to have the night in a mexican village with the temple in the background theme or a view of the lagoon? Also which menu appeals to you and DD more..

I say both are a must do at least once. We like both, but I prefer La Hacienda and the view from La Hacienda is just so great. Your teen daughter will love it. You can see the Illuminations fire works from inside the restuarant, consider a dinner at 8:15 pm to catch the fire works at 9 pm.

We have been to both. Last September, we went to La Hacienda and loved it. We were able to see the fireworks:) We prefer La hacienda, the food is better, great views of the lagoon for fireworks.

SAI is amazing for one thing, IMO, the atmosphere, and for that reason alone a 'must-do' once for people who visit somewhat frequently. For folks who do not visit often, I would suggest avoiding it. The food and service are the reasons I will never eat there again. It is easily the only bad meal I have ever had at WDW.

I haven't been to either one, but I'd like to. If I had to choose one over the other, I'd pick La Hacienda for the fireworks view, the menu, and the generally positive reviews.

I absolutely love genuine mexican food. We had such a bad experience at SAI that DH refused to go back year after year, until they opened La Hacienda. We both agreed that it was the best meal we had at Disney last year. I definitely recomment La Hacienda, and can't wait to go back myself!

I like La Hacienda better then San Angel Inn, I've only been to each restaurant once though.

Thanks for all the suggestions, opinions, and feedback - it is much appreciated. :goodvibes I didn't know that La Hacienda faced the lagoon. I may just book a ressie at each to compare!

Thanks again!:thumbsup2

We just had a wonderful dinner at La Hacienda (have not been to San Angel). DH and I said it was the best meal we had for the whole trip. You do get to see the fireworks, but it is not like being outside as you cannot see them all. We tried to get a seat by the window (8:15 ADR and were willing to wait a while), but people who had finished their meals at 8 stayed for the rest of the night. There was one group who took the chance and decided to wait to get a window seat and ended up not getting one. Make sure you get a table in the main room.
