San Angel Inn or Mama Melrose?

Which is the lesser of the two evils?

I don't find San Angel to be an evil, so I'd say SA! If you can overlook the crowdedness of the restaurant I find their food to be quite tasty.

I had an exceptional first experience at Mama Melrose but since then I've found it to be lacking. I think our server, Heidi, made all the difference first time around.

Both are great but very different atmosphere. Both can get quite crowded. SA is a nice quaint atmosphere. The Tortilla Soup is awesome. I think it just matters what kind of food you are in the mood for. Mexican or Italian

I would choose San Angel Inn .

I find the food to be more authentic and better prepared. San Angel Inn also has a wonderfully unique ambience and atmosphere that MM's simply can't compete with, IMO. Don't eat at the San Angel Inn expecting American-style "Tex-Mex". That's not what they serve, to their credit.

We tried the SA last fall and felt it was the worst of the restaurants we have tried over the years. We all like Mexican food but of the 5 meals we ordered only my wife enjoyed hers (she had some kind of fish). We felt the food was not even on par with a Dom Pablos with small portions and at probably twice the cost. The atomosphere at the restaurant is decent though so we didn't feel it was a total loss. Our favorites (of the ones we have tried) are actually the Concourse in the Contemporary, Kona's in the Polynesian, and Teppannaki in Epcot. Had excellent meals in each.

We enjoy both for entirely different reasons and since they are in totally different parks, you shouldn't have to choose between the 2. Do SA when in EPCOT and MM when in MGM In a contest for us, Mama's would win hands down
