Samsung GS7...best place to buy with Verizon?

My current phone (Samsung Note 2) is giving up the ghost and I'd like to replace it before it dies on me. Is buying directly through an official Verizon store the best way to go, or are there better methods? For instance, is it better to go online to get points/miles or anything like that? I belong to MyPoints and I have a SW cc but that's about it.

Have you tried eBay? That's where I bought my S6 last year (about 8 months after it was released). I purchased it for $389 during a 5X's eBay Bucks bonus period (so got nearly $39 in eBay bucks) and at the time used discounted eBay gift cards. You can still get discounted eBay gift cards at Target for 5% off. The 7 right now is showing on eBay for $350-$500. Just check the reviews of the seller. You'll be backed by eBay if you have any issues. I didn't, my phone is still going strong!

Costco just ended a deal (end of August) on the S7 so you might have to wait a few months before they have another deal.

My friend, who got it at Costco at the end of August, got this deal for the Samsung S7. She and her husband each got their own Samsung S7.
$5/month for 24 months (per phone)
$35-40 activation fee (per phone)
$350 Costco Cash card
Clear hard cases with glass fronts for both phones
Car Charger
External Battery charger

I'm not sure if she also had to pay another $5/month on her phone plan (which she was able to keep her plan of 1-2 GB total since she & her husband only use data for driving directions, otherwise WiFi).

She said they typically come around once a year, in the last quarter of the year. So, I'll be checking out Costco next year (not a member, but will join if they have a good deal for Verizon). Plus, my contract isn't up until May so it's just a few more months of waiting.

She didn't have to turn in her old phones (those are going to be spares) either.

Dang. Looks like I just missed the offers, lol! Thank you for the information. I'm going to need a new phone soon, unfortunately. I'm the type of person that keeps a phone until it's almost dead, so I won't be getting another one for several years if I go with my usual pattern. It takes me that long to get used to using it! My 4 girls all have iphones and we have 2 ipads so I've considered going that direction but they're always having issues between the devices and itunes so I would rather not get messed up in that. It has taken several trips to the verizon store to straighten out when the devices somehow get crossed with one another (even though we have different accounts etc). I also really love having a memory card.

Just to update: I bought the Samsung Galaxy S7 today at BestBuy. They have the exclusive on Rose Gold color, and they gave me a $100 gift card which they allowed me to use toward the $50 in taxes/activation fees. I also got a certificate for a free Gear VR, which I have to apply for online. Not sure what it is (some kind of virtual reality glasses) but might be something I can use as a gift.

A lot more than you did on ebay!! I didn't have the money to pay for it upfront. It's $28 a month for 2 years, which is no bargain, I know.
