Sam's Tiki kid question

If I have a reservation at 7:40, will it be an issue that my kid is there past 8pm? Do they let kids in and stay until they are done eating if the reservation is before 8pm?

There are no reservations for Trader Sam's at WDW. Where is your reservation? If it's for the Disneyland location, you may want to post this in the DL forum.

I am pretty sure if your kids are still eating they may find a table outside for you, at least years ago pre-covid they would sort of nudge families out there. Here is a good thread from 2014 be sure to read the last post in the thread

They might just seat you guys outside, honestly. With a 7:40 reservation, you're getting the "next available" table anyway, and will likely not be seated right away. They won't seat you indoors with a child that close to the cutoff.

Our son was 19 and we got seated inside at about 7:30pm. We weren’t told to hurry and have him gone by 8pm at all. At 7:50pm a couple with a young baby was sat inside at the table next to us. So it seems as long as your reservation is before 8pm you should be fine.

I wonder if they’d have felt differently if he was causing a ruckus like a little kid might in the environment.

We were told there is a set time inside to keep the tables flipping. As mentioned there was a baby at the table next to us and that party was seated right before 8pm. I believe that as long as your reservation is before 8pm you are ok.
