Well, I never thought I'd be posting a weight-loss journal on a Disney website.....on any website for that matter! I've always been afraid to journal anything....I guess I've always thought it was like talking to yourself, and "weird"! Don't know if I'm even comfortable with this journaling yet, but I'm willing to try if it will help me on this latest weight loss quest.
Some background: I'm 39 years old and have been overweight since at least 4th grade. I have never been thin or skinny. I lost over 40 pounds after the birth of my second child and was the lightest I had ever been in my adult life at 162. I felt great.......then got pregnant with 3rd child! Gained every pound and then some. Fast-forward 8 years and after many yo-yo diets, I finally put the brakes on at 220 pounds. Started Atkins in April 2003 and over the next 5 months, lost 30 pounds and was thrilled! Then, I started backsliding and fell completely off the wagon. Been off ever since and managed to gain back 12 of those pounds.
I have finally decided that I want to make changes...permanent ones. I'm going to be 40 next May and I want to be in a healthier place. For me....and for my kids. I want to be around a long time for them.
I started back on Atkins yesterday....August 16th. Mostly because it's a plan I'm familiar with, and it seemed to work well for me the first time around. Looking at exercise video options as its very difficult for me to get to a gym or even out for a walk with our busy family schedule. I hope to start exercising soon. I'm starting off at 192 pounds and my first goal is just to make it through the next two weeks of induction.
Well, I guess that's it in a nutshell. I hope to make myself journal at least a little every day. Might help me stay on track if I have to write it down.
Thanks for reading!
