Same sex Vows at Disney

Hi. We are a couple from the UK and they are due to legalise gay marriage next year here . We currently have a civil partnership which gives us same rights as marriage with a few differences. Anyway when it comes into law we will convert our civil partnership to marriage as that's our personal preference. We want to do the legal bit here then do a vow renewal in our fav place WDW! Anybody know if they will do this for same sex couple either at Disney world or on DCL? Tia

I went to my lesbian friend's wedding last month. Their cake even had Minnie holding hands with Minnie cake toppers. It was at the Grand Floridian. The only problems I heard about were related to alcohol and insurance.

Disney is, in fact, now doing same-sex weddings, even though they are not legal in Florida. Be prepared to pay a metric buttload of money, though.

That is good news! Hope indeed. That's how it started in the UK baby steps is how some people cope!

We are doing our "commitment ceremony" at Disney World in January! We will do the legal paperwork in DC and just the ceremony at WDW. Depending on how many people you are planning on having, they aren't that crazy expensive. Go to www.disneyweddings.com and look at the different packages.

I am not familiar with the disney wedding info YET! For people who have been at an around disney, where would be the BEST place to propose? This will be out 10th anniversary and I want to propose to him and make it epic.

Hmmm, that would really depend on you two. In front of the castle at Magic Kingdom would be amazing, maybe on a favorite ride, while falling on the Tower of Terror, along the Boardwalk. If Lucas hadn't asked me in DC, I would have proposed to him in France pavillion in Epcot since he loves it there so much. There are so many great places and ways to do it! I actually called the Disney number and spoke with someone for photo pass. I found out that they will take pictures of the proposal in the Rose Garden for me. So I'm very excited.
