We are going this summer to Disneyworld while my daughter participates in Disney Dance the World. Her Dad is also going and we are divorced and each have our own MDE's. We would like for him to be able to book Fastpasses for the first part of the trip for her and then he is going home and she is staying for longer with me and I want to book fastpasses for the last part of the trip for her. If she sets up a MDE account and we both link her to our own MDE's can we both book fastpasses for her for the different days she will be with one or the other of us? Has anyone done this kind of thing before?

Yes it can be done--only 1 adult can technically have control in MDE however if you are linked and sharing plans then you both can make FPs. This may not be the best thing for you to do though. If you are buying tix--it would be cheaper to have your ex buy her a longer ticket and you two can settle the cost on the side (the longer the ticket--the better the price per day). This way she'll have greater access to FPs as you have the 10+1 window (meaning she can make FPs for the length of her ticket from the beginning of your ex's reservation). Depending on your situation and relationship with your ex--there are other ways to make it a little easier but to answer your question in its basest value--yes, you can. Hope this helps and sorry if I confused you.

Yes - it will work if she has her own MDX account. You’ll only be able to see her plans if she Selects Shared Plans and not those of anyone who is linked to her unless she Selects Share All Plans.

It may be tricky to do this depending on how her Disney ticket is purchased. For example, if you or your ex purchases her ticket within a Disney package (hotel plus tickets, or hotel plus tickets plus dining), then I suspect her ticket will need to be linked to her within that purchaser's MDE account.
However, if you do room only reservations (or if you are not staying at a Disney hotel) and buy each ticket separately, then you should be able to each associate your ticket to your own MDE account. Then, as hiro states above, she can choose to share her plan with each of you, separately. You would send/accept a friend request in MDE.
We buy tickets at a discount using AAA. That gives us a voucher which we turn in for the tickets on arrival. In that case, for example, I would buy each ticket separately, so they each have their own voucher number. Then in MDE, I would link the voucher to each person in MDE. Once a ticket (or voucher) is linked to a person, I can make FP reservations for them if they are in my MDE or in a shared MDE.

I got told there is an age thing, too. I'm sorry I don't remember the cut off. But when my niece was 6, I had one account for her, but her parents account was completely separate. Disney thinks it's two different people. We were told that under a certain age, only one person can have the person exist. My SIL has two profiles, too.....one that is my family and one that is separate. Nothing is linked, including the ticket, so we can only use one account when we travel together. And if they go without me, they use their own account.

My parents do not have their own accounts they are managed profiles on my account. If they are traveling with my sister (or just touring with her for a day) my sister and I have linked our accounts as friends and family on MDE. Once we did that she can book fp for my parents or I can. Either of you could have her under your account as long as you’re willing to link together as friends and family. She can also create her own MDE account and link to you both as friends and family as well. As long as she allows to see and share plans you’ll each be able to make FP with her. Do not buy more than one ticket unless the one that she gets with the dance event can’t be bought with enough days.

One poster was absolutely correct above.... the daughter MUST have her own MDX account with control of her ticket. Whoever buys it assigns it to her. Each parent connects her as a friend. Now she is sharing plans with each parent.

If she does not have her own MDX then she has to have two different tickets, and be a managed family member in each parent's account with separate tickets and FP+ arrangements made by the parent.

By the way, when she gets her own MDX account and still exists in a parent's account, good luck. I spend a half hour with the Internet help desk getting my daughter's two identities sorted out this morning. Only they can remove a person who was managed by you and allow you to connect to them with their own MDX account in later years!

Great information! She does have her own MDX account as she is a teenager and we had her set one up. It sounds like her ticket number when she gets it needs to be linked to her own MDX and then her Dad and I both link her account and share plans and then we can both do Fastpasses.

A few hoops to jump but I think we can do it!! Thanks everyone for the info!!

Based on what I know she will get a ticket number we then add it to her MDX account, since its the dance package the travel agency is doing all of the purchasing and this is how they told us it would work. We are only buying one ticket through them since its cheaper than two separate for the extra days.

Yes, it sounds like it will work just as you need it to work! As long as you can get the ticket #, you'll be able to link it in her account.
I'd mention to the travel agent what you plan to do if you are able. They are usually really knowledgeable about how to make things work.
