Same day upgrades

My family and I will be at the parks in November and we are planning to upgrade our tickets to Dream Keys. Does anyone have experience with this? I'd love to do the upgrade at the begging of our day in order to use our discounts for dining later in the day.

Two people I know upgraded their tickets to keys today. Their tickets disappeared from the app and their keys never appeared. They ended up spending an hour in line at the ticket booth to get this fixed.

Just be prepared for some IT issues. Screenshot your ticket before upgrading because it's possible you will not be able to use your Magic Key to enter the park or manage virtual queues.

The Cast Member I chatted with suggested that we upgrade at the end of the day. I guess I will have plenty of time to use my discount later.

We upgraded our daughters ticket over Labor Day and we did it through the app at the end of the day. The original ticket stayed in my app as well as the Dream Key. At first when I tried to upgrade it gave me an error and said to talk to someone, but I just waited a minute and tried again with no issues.

Were you able to select the monthly payments or did you need to pay in full?

I had to pay in full. You have to go to a ticket booth to set up payments.

My daughter couldn't upgrade her park hopper without losing her reservation even though she had already been in the park on our last day.

Does anyone know how late the ticket booths stay open? I had planned on going in the middle of the day to upgrade my park hoppers (and get my nominal DVC discount which appears to be only doable in person), but it sounds as if I may not be able to get back in the park if I did. TIA!
