Hi Sam! Since you were the first person to post on my PJ, I just had to come and read yours! It took me a while to read it all, but I just finished and am hooked! I LOVE your engagement story... I always dreamed about getting engaged in central park while Ice Skating. (Serendipity is my favorite movie!) I am going to school to be a teacher as well (Elementary). I think it's great you are both science teachers! I saw the pictures of Living Seas and they are so nice... making me think I might want my reception there. You will have to tell me what you thought when you get back from the marathon. Me and DF are also thinking of Hawaii for a honeymoon. Do you know which island(s) you are planning on visiting?
Thanks Amy!! It was really romantic and sweet. We are the two biggest science dorks...even the other science teachers nicknamed me "nerd"

But we are and we are proud of it! I totally give props to elementary ed teachers, my mom taught 3rd grade, and now she is a supervisor. And it's hard planning so many lessons. It's nice in high school, (especially since I totally lucked out ONLY teaching Lab Chem) so I basically do the same lesson 4 times in a row...of course 16 year olds are a LOT different than 8 year olds.

I will definitely post pics from the site visit. The LSS looks like a really elegant but unique and funky reception site. And that's what we want. I don't want a ballroom.
We're staying on Maui I think, and plan to visit the big island and possibly others. I'm not a big sit on your butt and suntan person

mad: that's how I look at the beach...unhappy and RED!) So we plan on scuba diving, and exploring, and hiking and stuff. We're big GO GO GO people (Commando style)
Also we booked our PS!! Carol wanted it split into 2 sessions on 2 days, one for planning and one for food and I actually think this is a great idea because I don't think it will take 4 hours in planning (considering I don't give a HOOT about linens and floral) and that way we can use the tasting as a lunch on a second day. I totally need food recommendations and I think I'll post a thread in the main board asking about that.
And the bad news, Mike and I had a big fight yesterday, but I think everything is better. We needed to vent about some things and a little tiff turned into massive 3 hour cry fest (mostly by me, because I'm super emotional) and today my head is reeling from the dehydration. But it needed to be done and we said some things that we both needed to hear. I really think one of the most important things a couple can do is to learn HOW TO FIGHT. Which I think we do fairly well, sometimes we tend to make the other feel guilty but we never let it end until we've made up and that's a good thing.
Anyway, 2.5 hours to go until the end of school. I hate shortened days because they remove lunch and the kids are crazy anyway and they always fall on a wednesday, which is when my worst class has lab, so I'm class 4 periods straight, ending with my

class. Oh well. Soon it will be vacation.
