Well we're back, we're rested, and I've got some of our pics together so lets start from the beginning.

Day One:

Saturday 1-6-07

We woke up at 2am to start our trip down to FL. The night before we loaded the car with so much stuff that it literally was leaning to one side. LOL We drove straight from the mountains of NC to Orlando in about 10 1/2 hours and 4-5 stops for bathroom breaks.

When we finally made it to Orlando at 12:30 we went to the Country Inn and Suites to check in and we already had our very first issue.....

While my DH was unloading the car, I took the room key with my wedding dress and went upstairs to the room. I was having trouble getting the key into the door because my dress was so heavy and this guy across the hallway asked if he could help. I was greatful said yes and my thank you's after he unlocked it, but then out of nowhere he gives me this digusting look and says "Well, if you need any company tonight I'm right across the hall ya know what I'm sayin'" I was so digusted I could throw up and my cheeks were on fire. I tried to hide how upset I was, but with one look at my face my DH new something was up so I told him what happened. Obviously, he was less than happy and went down to the front desk to tell them that there was no way we were staying across the hall from the hoodlums. They upgraded us to a suite down the hall, but they couldn't get us on a different floor because they were totally full.

After that whole thing I was just praying that we wouldn't run into anything else because I was already stressing about getting my nails done and a zit.

Once we got our stuff in the room we immediately headed out to eat for lunch Chevy's and went to Wal-Mart because we forgot a few things at home. Also we went to a nail salon so that I could get a mani and pedi. I was afraid to get them done at home and I'm so glad I waited until we got to Orlando because they already started chipping the next day.

By the time we got back to the room at around 6pm we were exhausted since we had been going since 2 in the morning. We just flopped on the bed and there was no way that we had the energy to go back out to eat for dinner so we ordered pizza to be delivered to our room. We were starving and the pizza delivery took an hour and 30 minutes. We had no idea why it took so long and we were about to cancel the order, but we didn't want to take the chance of no one else being able to deliver. After we finally got the pizza and ate we pretty much passed out.

Since we really were so busy we weren't worried about pics all I've got is a few shots of our room so here they are:

Okay on to DAY TWO:

We were more than ready to check out of the hotel and get to Old Key West. We got the luggage cart loaded and ready to go by 9:30am and were were really rushing to get to OKW because I had a steaming appointment at 2.

Here's our stuff all loaded up:

weddingpics325.jpg

We made it to OKW at 10am and tried to check in but our room wasn't ready. I was pretty worried since Carolyn Allen's was booked for the day and my dress was REALLY wrinkled. Since our room wasn't ready we tried to check in for my parents and my aunt, but their rooms weren't ready either. Luckily, my aunt was able to check in around 11:30.

While we were waiting for everyone to get there we walked around the resort, ate lunch, and took pics of the grounds:

When my aunt and her boyfriend showed up later that evening. we went over to their room and just hung out. Here's a pic of my aunt pulling up to the resort:

weddingpics335.jpg

While we were in my aunt's room we called over and over to see if our room was ready with no luck. Since it didn't look like we'd be getting a room by 2pm we just had my dress and Michael's tux steamed in my aunt's room. Carolyn Allen's assistant, Sue did the steaming and was an absolute sweetheart. Unfortunately, silly old me Forgot that Carolyn Allen's is CASH ONLY, if you haven't prepaid with a credit card. I only had $2 on me so I ran toward check in to find an ATM, LUCKILY my mom and dad had JUST come off of the Magical Express bus and I bummed $100 of my dad for the cost of the steaming and a $30 tip.

DAY TWO continued:

We didn't get our room at OKW until 5 PM and neither did my parents. So, we spent a total of 7 hours waiting for a room. Looking back I wish we had scheduled the steaming at a different time and just did stuff in the parks.

However, when we got the room we didn't mind the wait so much because they gave us an AMAZING view. We looked straight at the largest pond in front of the OKW light house, the bridge, one of the golf holes, and the trail. We LOVED our room:

I really cannot say enough good things about OKW. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, we loved the size of the rooms, and the speed of the bus system. We spent our first hour in our room getting all of our stuff in and getting ready for our Welcome Dinner reservation for Boma.

We got to Boma with my parents and Aunt at 7:15pm, but my sister and BIL were no where to be seen. I snuck down to the front desk to let them know that some of our party was running a little behind and to make sure that everything with my DH's groom's caked was fine. We kept waiting for my sis and BIL and then finally decided that we would go ahead and sit down. Just as we were entering the resturant my sis and BIL came up behind us. As soon as my DH saw the cake waiting for him on the table his face lit up and he was so surprised. There were people surrounding our table taking pictures of the cake because it was so detailed and unique. I couldn't have been happier with the money spent.

What a brilliant start! Ive been looking forward to this Caroline and your new sig pic is gorgeous!

Your wedding report is fantastic! How did you arrange the grooms cake? That looked amazing!:cloud9:

Great start, Caroline!! I love the grooms cake!! We saw that sky writing when we were down there too!!

Thanks so much Bec! :goodvibes

Raspberry, I ordered the groom's cake through the GF bakery and had it delievered for a $75 fee. The flavor of the cake was chocolate with peanut butter mousse.

Jessica, isn't the sky writing amazing? Apparently whenever there is a clear day they always do that. :confused3

You and your hubby are so cute together :goodvibes I love the groom's cake! I just ordered a surprise one for my DF for our rehearsal dinner. I hope it looks as great as yours! Great start to the TR, can't wait to read more :)

Great report! I'm loving all your pictures :) Keep up the good work!

I love the groom's cake too!! I was thinking of doing this for my DF the night before our wedding at Ohana. Should I just call the GF bakery?

I actually bought my dress off ebay. The woman's name was Grace and she was from Canada. She requested my measurements and said she would make the dress and get it to me in 2 months. However, that wasn't quite the truth because the dress was shipped from Hong Kong so it had to have been made there. The dress was a bit too long and made in the wrong color, but I still loved it.

To do the groom's cake you can arrange it directly through your wedding planner like I did or you can call the GF. Its up to you, hope that helps!

Day THREE: THE WEDDING DAY!!!

We woke up at 4:00am and as soon as I got out of the bed Anna knocked on the door. She worked as fast as lightning on my hair and makeup and helped me shimmy into the dress. She also touched up the scar I had on my elbow and a spot I had on my shoulder so well that they were completely invisible. After I got into my dress and Michael got his hair spiked and the tux on we realized that it was going to be a long day and we didn't have a bite to eat. Anna was such an angel and went of to McDonald's to get some breakfast for us, so we gave her our room key and told her to take a nap until my mom and sister came in the door for their hair and makeup at 8.

Once we told Anna what to order and were ready we headed to the OKW lobby to wait for our photographer to pick us up. Ty was just a few minutes late and when we got to the MK he was really worried because the castle was covered in cranes, plywood, and no lights on! He was going to every employee there telling them to hurry up and turn the lights on and get out of there because we had a photo shoot and were already running behind. It took all the workers a while to clear out and Ty was trying to figure out what to shoot until they moved. After we found a spot to shoot and got our flowers from the florist We only got a few shots in front of the castle and more in the back. Our shoot went a whole 1/2 hour longer than scheduled because of the delay. Luckily, we had plenty of daylight because of it, but I'm not sure how the quality of our photos will be. I'm really hoping that they turn out better than I expect them to be. :guilty:

When we got back to the resort Anna had our breakfast waiting for us and was already working on my sister's hair and makeup. I ate as quickly as I could and got all of our things ready for my DH to take to the Pavilion. Around that time I got a phone call from Tanis saying that she wouldn't be around for our wedding, but would be sending Matthew in her place. I was pretty bummed about that, but expected it because I'm always hearing about that happening with other intimate brides.

A few minutes later we got a knock on the door for my DH to get in the limo so he headed off. After he left with my sister in the limo I got my parents and Aunt rounded up to ride with me.

(My sister left with my DH because she had to help her husband get the kids dressed for the cermony and Anna took her own car because she had another wedding to do makeup for directly after ours.)

While I was in the limo with my family my dad was taking pictures constantly. Sorry about all of the red eyes, but my eyes are so blue that the flash always does that:

THE WEDDING DAY continued

Once we arrived at the WP and I stepped out of the limo I noticed that Tanis was standing there! She said that she had changed her mind and would still be in charge of my wedding, but Matthew would be assisting her. Both of them got me settled into the Bride's Vestibule before the ceremony. As soon as I sat down inside my sister showed up with the kids and I couldn't help but laugh because my poor nephew HATED wearing a tux, they had to bribe the kid with 4 quarters, LOL.

Dad took these pics in the room to the right side of the vestibule while I was in the left side:

weddingpics045.jpg

While I was just hanging out my sis showed up with my niece in tow and that baby couldn't stop smiling. She loves frilly dresses and she was so proud to be wearing her silk flower girl dress and kept wanted to touch my wedding dress:

weddingpics016.jpg

After Stan came in and video taped my message to my DH before the ceremony and Matthew showed up to get everyone seated Tanis came into the Vestibule and moved me into the groom's room at the WP to get me ready for my walk down the aisle. At this point I was taking it all in for a few moments and realized that in just a few minutes I would be a married woman. Then, my dad showed up to escort me from the Groom's room to the doors to the aisle.

All of the sudden, I heard MY song, the song I begged for, the song I loved and they had even managed to get Bill to be the organist for me since he is the only one that knows how to play it. As I heard the beginning of the France finale and I had dad on my arm my heart felt like it was in my throat and my eyes started to water. I took a few deep breaths to stop any tears from streaming and Tanis and Matthew stood by the doors counting down the EXACT moment that Bill had instructed them to listen for in order to have the big entrance. Then, I heard the drums that he had told them to time for and the doors swung open. As soon as I saw Michael I felt like I was going to cry again and I looked around the room to see everyone waiting for me to make it to the altar. We walked very slowly because I was being very careful not to trip, but it turned out that our walk took a little too long because Bill had to add a few more stanzas to the song until I could make it up the steps.

Once I was at the altar I had this feeling I couldn't describe, I knew I was about to get married I had an amazing soon-to-be husband the exact flowers, people , officiant, and location I wanted and it all felt like a dream.

Our vows went perfectly and Rev. Jack didn't make a single mistake except for a slight stumble on my last name. Michael and I managed not to cry although it was pretty tough and we were just taking it all in.

HERE IS WHERE IT GETS FUNNY

After the light the unity candle and Michael escorted me around the table, I grabbed my train to move it behind me and then all the sudden a HUGE roach looking bug came scurrying out from under my train!!! My eyes got so wide and I made a little gasp that sort of sounded like a little burb to Michael. He had no clue what was going on and only my sister and I saw it. As soon as Rev. Jack said the final prayer, prounced us, and we started our recessional I just COULDN'T hold it in. I couldn't wait to say something to my DH so I mentioned it going down the aisle and I'm sure that Stan caught it on tape. I said "Oh my God did you see that giant roach come out from under my dress!" Then Stan said it was a Palmetto bug and that I probably drug it in from outside since the WP has all of that low growing vegetation that they love.

I sort of hate that I didn't wait to share that news with my DH until we got to the Vestibule, but it was just too funny I was about to burst with laughter.

Tanis then followed us the Vestibule and cued us to run out for the petal toss. Mom absolutely pelted my DH in the face with the flowers and my nephew was going nuts. After the toss we started taking the family pictures inside the WP. I'm guessing that those probably took 15 minutes and we said our goodbyes to Anna. She cried through most of the wedding and we were so sad to see her go because we had all gotten so close. Dad snapped a photo of her giving us a hug:

weddingpics023.jpg

Followed by Anna, came Rev. Jack who gave us one of his grandpa hugs goodbye. We absolutely loved him and were so glad that he was available for our wedding day:

Here are a few more pics from dad:

After all of the family photographs Tanis and Matthew directed everyone to the limo to wait for us at the GF. While they were all in the limo dad was still taking tons of pics:

weddingpics051.jpg

After everyone left Randy directed us outside to take pictures under the arch that looks toward the castle and there we had ANOTHER snafu...My Veil got caught in a rose bush! My DH and Randy kept trying to get it apart from the briars, but then it would get stuck again. Finally my DH figured it out and amazingly it didn't even tear it...WHEW!

After a few more pics under the arch and on the beach at the WP we got in the limo to head toward the WP and once we got out dad was waiting with the camera again. LOL

weddingpics067.jpg

Everyone was waiting for us in the lobby and my nephew had changed into regular clothes. I was really surprised that he lasted as long as he did and he was in such a better mood once he got changed:

weddingpics060.jpg

At this point Tanis directed everyone except the two of us and Randy to the Commander's Terrace. In all honesty, this is the only thing I wasn't very happy with. We were pretty rushed through this and were directed straight through the cake cutting, toast, first dance, and then out the door to Citrico's for pics with Minnie and Mickey. I wouldn't have been bothered by it, if it weren't for the fact that I had PLANNED a father daughter dance and didn't get it. However, the trade off for that was that Minnie and Mickey stayed much longer than they were scheduled for. I mentioned it to dad that I was dissapointed about it and he promised that we'd dance together once I got home from the honeymoon. He said "Hey, you can dance with you're daddy any day you want, but how often do you get Minnie and Mickey to hang out with you?" He made a good point so I was satisfied with that ;-)

So here a couple of the pics from the terrace and with Minnie and Mickey:

The Wedding Day continued

After we finished the photos with Minnie and Mickey we headed back toward the Commander's Terrace to gather up our stuff. We sent our family down the the lobby with our box of goodies while Randy took us to the Grand Staircase and outside for a few more photos on the beach.

(BTW, I forgot to mention that Randy also took photos at OKW)

After we finished up with the photos we said our goodbyes to Randy and headed toward the lobby to pick everyone up and go to lunch at the GF Cafe'. Once we were seated I began fading fast. We had been up since 4 am and being on my feet all day on those high shoes exahusted me. I wasn't hungry because of all the excitement so I just ordered a house side salad while everyone else ate something heavier. Then the waitress came out with HUGE hunks of cake for everyone and it was the first big smile that I had seen my nephew crack all day! He gobbled it down in a few minutes while everyone else was just working on trying to eat a few bites. I really wish I had pictures of my nephew and the cake, it was too funny.

In a few more minutes the waitress came with the tab and my dear aunt picked it up for us, I absolutely love her

At this point I realized something...NO MORE LIMO!!! I was too tired to take a bus back to the room and I didn't feel like trying to pile everyone into my sister's minivan so I had my DH flag down a shuttle. This was one of our funniest snafus! You gals should have seen the look on the cab driver's face and the first thing he said was "Well, after nine years of doing this, I have to say that this is a first" :rotfl:

Here is a pic of us in the cab going back to OKW

weddingpics121.jpg

The cab driver and my dad were getting in a light hearted conversation about the whole thing and I was starting to nod off. I was so tired that I don't even remember much about being dropped of at our room. As soon as we opened the door the dress came off, I washed off all the makeup, took down my hair, took a shower, and crawled in bed.

My DH and I napped for about two hours to recharge for the Wishes Cruise that night. We were woken up by our nap by someone from the front desk delievering our unity candle arrangement. Luckily that knock on the door came just in time so that we could hurry up and get dressed to meet everyone at the GF marina.

Once we got to the marina, as usual my sis and BIL were late and didn't even had the kids with them  They had their nanny with them so I have no idea why they never showed up on time, but I understood why they didn't bring the kids because they needed to sleep in order to have energy for the next day. When we all got to the dock I was surprised to find that the boat was decorated for me! :cool1: I had tried and tried to order wedding decorations to be told that they didn't have any. I was so excited that they had fufilled my request and charged me at the rate that I booked months ago. (I was warned that the price would go up a week before our wedding day and that I would have to pay it)

weddingpics127.jpg

weddingpics129.jpg

Everyone loved the cruise and my parents and aunt had never seen Wishes so of course they couldn't stop talking about it. They even liked that cheesy floatilla in front of the Poly. LOL

Our boat driver was really good at giving the tour and he was so sweet. He even helped us gather up all the drinks and snacks to take back to our room. Once we got to the car I realized that we hadn't tipped him so AGAIN I bummed money from dad and ran back to the marina to find that they had ALREADY closed. I was so dissapointed because he did such a great job.

After running all the way back we just gave up and I got in the car because I knew everyone was getting tired and were ready to get back to their rooms. My DH and I were ready too, because we still needed more sleep. Also, we needed to be fresh and ready for the next day because we had the farewell breakfast and we had a full day planned at EPCOT
