Sailing Through the Canal - Part Deux + 2 nights To Nowhere Birthday Cruise!

Hmmmm..yummy! Question..do you know if there was a limit on how many times you could order from Palo? I mean..if we wanted dinner but not dessert and then later ordered the souffle...hope that doesn't sound piggy of me...just curious.

I don't think so. Like I said as long as it's before 9 there shouldn't be a problem. Or you could always try telling them when you order that you want dessert, but you'd like dessert to be delivered at a later, specific time.

I am beyond excited! I found my old reservation for my car rental so I knew it was Hertz. they changed locations for thier office but I found one about 5 minutes from the pier.

We are the proud renters of a car for the day! :cool1:

Wow.. FE gift and car rental..I'm on fire! :rotfl2:

I'm on the planning train now! :lmao:

After MUCH discussion..we chose to rent a car for our brief stay at WDW. We had pros and cons... do we go with DCL transfers...do we go with Disney transportation? We don't mess with our lugguge on Disney but we burn a lot of time waiting for the bus for the parks...etc

We have no problems with Disney transportation at all. The problem lies on the amount of time we have vs don't have. We are very limited in how much time we have to see what we want. My DD has a list a mile long of attractions she can't miss and we only have one day to do it in. Plus on cruise day, we want to make a stop on the way to the port. That being said, we decided in an effort to save time...we would rent a car from the airport to the port.

In the end...the cost difference from Disney transfers to car rental for the 2 days was not to bad and we decided it was worth it to us. We will be able to drive to the different parks and avoid waiting for the buses. The Disney hours came out and we have our plan of attack! We will hopefully be doing one of the parks (MK) the evening we arrive since that park only has 3 attractions we want to see. Since it is very similar to DLR we spend the least amount of time there.

I am one of those people who like to get to the port as early as they will let me and start to relax! Don't worry..I won't be there when the others are exiting the ship :rotfl2: Not THAT early.

This will be our first trip to WDW where I have not done ADR.. it feels very wierd to me not to have a list of our ADR and where we have to be. We are trying to go with the "here is where we are - what would you like to eat?" mentality.

I cant believe how quickly this cruise is coming! :cool1:

So..not even 24 hours later and my plan has gone poof .. what am I thinking? :confused3

DD13 really wants to eat at one of her favorite restaurants while we are there so I have given in and we have booked an ADR at Sci-Fi for the 5th. I have warned her tho....this is it! No dinner ADR for either the 4th or the 5th! She was fine with it and luckily my DH puts up with all of my craziness!

We did book a character breakfast for the 6th since I love to do one on our last day at the resort (whether we are cruising or leaving for home). It's something about one last chance for Disney magic before we have to go. We do not go to one of the parks in the morning even though we have a few hours so the character breakfast is our Disney magic the last morning.

I am aware that we are only leaving the resort to head towards 15 more days of Disney magic but the traditionalist in me has stuck with our plans! We will be going to Ohana for breakfast...it was supposed to be a surprise for my DD who LOVES Stitch but she came into my office while I was making the ADR and I thought she saw me. Afterwards she said she didn't notice :headache:

I think maybe it was the planner in me that just had to book something :rotfl2:

Now I sit here and and am thinking..what else can I plan? :lmao:

Yea!!! We plan on renting too while in Aruba. Glad to know that you enjoyed it last time. If you don't mind me asking, what rental company are you using this time?

I have considered doing a trip report for this cruise. We are so excited and to think that we have less than 6 months to go!!!

I will also be on your PC cruise. My birthday is the 22nd which I'll be spending at DL! I got my FE's planned. Now to make them. :)

Just got home from picking up the first of my FE gifts. They came out pretty nice. I am happy with them.

I haven't decided on the 3rd one quite yet. I know what I am doing for the
3rd but that is going to take some work for that one.

Have a great day!

Wow, great that you were able to get one of the grand rooms for the last two night, what a way to celebrate your Bday.

Cool that you as a disney fan, that your hubby is a CM. Does he work at the park?

My DD is a Vocal preformance grad student at CSUF and started working for the park as a Host in May, she loves it and has been working alot of hours and she is just like your daughter says she could live there.

She has two jobs her 2nd one at Ride Makerz in DTD. so between the two jobs you would think she would not want to go back to the parks on her day off, nope, she and some other CM's went to the park.

We are both excited for the Wonder to come to CA, in hopes to cruise again and for the first time on the Wonder...

Have a wonderful time on the journey through PC to CA...

My DH works in Burbank. Your DD sounds busy! Glad she enjoys her jobs.

We have cruised on the Wonder twice. The first time, it was her 8th cruise so we got to see her relatively new. Now 11 years later- we get to go again!

Thank you for your good wishes!

Hey, DH and I will also be on this 17-day cruise! The Walt suite is so exciting! I would love to do it once, maybe one day. :)
In Aruba we are looking at a 4x4 tour but haven't booked anything official. It is fun planning though!
Have you noticed on the DCL website the stops of Costa Rica, Mazarlan and Puerta Villarta are not listed? I wonder what that is about...
Only a few short months! :)

Are you on the PC thread? Make sur eyou join us. I wish we had the Walt for the whole cruise but there is no way we could afford that.

I haven't noticed that the stops aren't listed. I will have to take a peek.

I see I haven't posted in awhile. I am in between feeling like we have such a long time before this cruise and feeling like time is flying!

School has started for us earlier this month so I have been busy with my DD... Since we homeschool, we are clessed to be able to take the time to go on this cruise. She does have classes on Fridays though so she will miss 2 classes in January.

The excursions have some out for our cruise so we are trying to decide what will work for us! here are a few that we are looking at and once we decide, I will post them. Then we have to hope we can get them! unfortunately, I will not be Gold until after this cruise so we are the last to book our excursions on October 8th.

Only one of them I am concerned about getting but I guess whatever is to be..will be! We are not looking at Palo or the spa this time around. We decided that we will enjoy Palo on our 2 night cruise so no need to worry about that booking. As for the spa, my DH does enjoy going to have a massage but I have not really had any luck on cruise ships so I don't know if I will bother this time. I used to enjoy the rain forest but found that I didn't get my use out of it so we are putting the money towards the excursions.

We did buy my DD some dresses for the cruise at Ross. She got 2 formals, a semi-formal and a nice dress for a dinner for $80.00. I love a great clearance!

Well final payment day came and went last week! Everything has been paid for and we are definitely in for these cruises!

This morning I spent at the local post office ordering a new passport for my DD. Her's doesn't expire until May but since it has to be good for 6 months past the cruise, we had to get a new one.

Hopefully in 6 weeks we will have a bright shiny new passport for her! It seemed like we had so much time to get it and then boom! It was 4 months away and we are in a hurry.

I am in charge of the Secret Mickey exchange on the PC cruise so I spent the weekend assigning an PMing everyone with thier assignments. I love who we got and look forward to start buying for them!

I also need to get my final FE gift but since it is edible..I am waiting longer to order.

I also started thinking about magnets this past week. It seemslike its time to get things moving. Especially with the holidays coming up and our trip right after the new year!

Cant wait to read more! how fun I didnt even know about the 2 day sailing that would have been a perfect fix for us.. but guess its all booked already couldnt get anything on the web.

Well with the final payment date having come and gone, was curious to see if anyone decided to cancel their trip? We are on the opposite side of the coin. Having decided to skip the cruise a year ago in lieu of going to Hawaii this year. Saw the cruise was not sold out decided well let's go on the cruise too! LOL

We are now on a 5C GTY paid in full ready to go through the canal! :cool1:

Congrats and welcome! Make sure you join the thread on the cruise..lots of nice people!

I am in charge of assigning the SM for our PC cruise...as of 15 minutes ago - I am finished!

Now..I am going to head off to Co. D to see if I can find anything fun for our SM's. Co. D is the Cast Member store where the discontinued merchandise ends up from the parks. I love going in...sometimes you can find some really fun stuff.

DH and I were just talking.. the next 3 months are going to go by so quickly and I need to get moving! I am starting to stress :scared1:

We get to book out DCL excursions on the 8th of October (PC cruise will make us Gold)). I did book our Palo ressies for our 2 night cruise the other day so that's done.

I am also trying to decide what I am getting my clients who booked these cruises through me. Seems so far away and then poof! It will be here.

I have decided to get a nice box and place it in my room..it's time to start putting things in that i want to take with us!
