That's so sad. She went to the place we are all taught to go when in trouble. Scary to think no one would be there.

In Florida, most police departments are small departments. I am guessing that is the case here. On weekends and after hours, support staff is often not included in the budget, and having a sworn officer in the station means they are not out on the streets.

Very sad story.

That is so sad! That happened in our family over 10 years ago. My husband's cousin was shot by her fiance in front of a police station. She was running to the station for help. The fiance then turned the gun on himself. It is so sad to hear this happen!!

That poor woman. Her last moments on this earth were of panic, fear and chaos...imagine her dismay when there were no officers there to help. That had to be so scary i'm sure she was terrified.

What a sad story. I used to work for a PD as a civilan and there were times when folks needed sworn and they were all out on the street. We would have dispatch send in an officer, but sometimes it would take awhile.
