I just saw on the local Orlando news that a cast member died this week. She was working the Primeval Whirl and was standing in the wrong place and a car knocked her off a platform and she hit her head. Our thoughts go out to her family.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- A Walt Disney World employee died on Thursday after falling from a ride platform at Animal Kingdom.
Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Polak said the accident happened on Saturday when Karen Price, 63, was hit by a moving car on the Primeval Whirl, a spinning roller coaster ride that features two identical tracks and takes guests back to the prehistoric era.
"We learned (Thursday) evening that our cast member has passed away. On behalf of our entire Walt Disney World family, our sympathies are with the family. We have offered our support through this very difficult time," Polak said.
Price was a ride attendant and moved into a prohibited area on the ride platform, Polak said. She fell from the platform and hit her head after being hit by the moving ride, officials said.
Authorities said Price was concious, alert and talking when she was transported to a hospital, but doctors said her condition deteriorated on Wednesday.
The Occupational Safety Health Administration and the Orange County Sheriff's Office are investigating the accident. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
The ride has not been shut down because it is functioning properly, officials said.
There have been two other recent cases where Disney employees died on the job.
In February 2004, Javier Cruz was killed when a float ran over him while he was working in a parade at the Magic Kingdom, and in February 1999, a worker on the Sky Ride died while cleaning a car and falling.
