Sad news.... two DIS'ers killed over the weekend in a DUI.

Along with using your mobile phone whilst driving, I would lock up drivers who are DUI and throw away the key.

Robert, who was ultramickeymouse on the boards, had run every Goofy Challenge so far, and was going to be running with us this upcoming weekend.

I saw this on Facebook over the weekend, and thought it was very shocking and sad. I had met Robert and Linda at some of the early WISH meets. Such a loss. Best of luck this weekend Amy. I'm sure this puts a bit of a damper on the run for you.

What a ridiculous waste of life!! My heart also goes out to the family of this couple. This makes me incredibly angry and I only hope the family is able to see justice be done.

A young woman crossing a street in Raleigh was hit and killed over the last few days. Very sad. The driver has not been caught.

I have done quite a bit of traffic control of both cars and pedestrians. People do very dangerous things when driving AND walking. NEVER, EVER assume that the car sees you if you are crossing a street. NEVER, EVER assume that if the driver does see you, that the driver will or can stop/slow down in time.

If I had a penny for every dangerous action I had seen, both from drivers and pedestrians, I could buy enough DVC points to live for months at WDW.

Be careful out there.

This is such a loss in so many ways.

Robert was incredibly patient with me as I asked him question after question when I first began running. Here he was, an experienced ULTRAmarathoner (which means he ran races that were 50 or 100 miles long)...and he took the time out to help out a beginner who knew next to nothing about the sport. What a loss. Prayers for all.
