SAB Slide Question

We have walked around and under the Pirate Ship slide a dozen times, and always have the same question. Is it completely closed in? It kind of gives me the creeps to put my grandchild in an enclosed tube that's dark inside. But we speculate that it might be open on the top, but we can't see it from where we are looking.

It's completely closed for about half of the slide, then open (but a couple of waterfalls pour water on you during the open part). I don't know about others, but the seams in this tube scraped me on the way down - not terribly bad, but enough to hurt a bit. Even though it's enclosed, you zip through it so quick she probably won't get scared.

wow - DS and I just saw this slide on the Travel Channel! The slide looks cool - DS wants me to take him there next Oct.
Hopefully I can get some time at the Beach Club the wk of Columbus Day?!

Hi there,

I always wanted to try the slide and this year we had a 8 night stay at the new BCV, whilst there myself and my 7 year old daughter walked up the steps to the top of side. We had great fun !!!! The slide is fun it starts enclosed for the first 80 feet straight across over the road. Then the turns start only a couple with some extra water added. We rode it during the day and night and it was always fun my wife even plucked up the courage and enjoyed it a couple of times.,

We did the slide over and over again on our last trip. A word of warning though - I was wearing a two piece swimsuit and the top fastens with a plastic hook in the back. Well it just so happens that the slide rubbed exactly on that hook and just about wore thru the fabric that holds the hook on. One more trip down the slide and people would be seeing more of me than I cared to reveal!
