I know that the WDW pools are heated. SAB is so large, I am wondering if it truly gets/stays warm in the cooler months (i.e. February). We are thinking about switching resorts from the Poly to BC or YC, but we would only do it if the heat really works. Years ago, we stayed at the DLH at Disneyland and the huge Neverland Pool was really not well heated due to its size (and this was in August). It was wall to wall crowded and freezing and not at all worth using. I want to make sure that if we switch to SAB, that the pool is well heated.

I LOVE the BC and SAB....

But swimming in the winter is Personal Preference...

I would NOT swim in SAB in February.

Our weather in Baton Rouge is pretty much the same as Orlando and I don't swim in our own pool until around April/ May....

Of course we don't keep our pool heated in the winter unless it's for a special party for the teens....

That being said... I've definitely heard of our Northern Neighbors who Love a good swim on a sunny day in Feb.

Saturday it was about 78* and Gorgeous here....

Hope you have a magical visit !

You are asking a question that is totally subjective and totally depends on how the weather is going to be the week you are there.

How tolerant are you of the cold? Depends what part of the country you are from, etc.

Only you can decide whether you can tolerate it or not, depending on the weather, etc.

I think that I may not be explaining the question properly.

We can swim when it is really cold out - i.e. we have gone swimming in San Francisco when it was in the 50's. I am not at all concerned with the air temperature.

I am only concerned with the water temperature. Is the water in SAB warm? Does it really heat up the way a smaller pool will when heated, or is it chillier?

Last week, my kids swam late in the day/early evening. It was high 70s, maybe 80 on that day. They seemed fine and didn't even say it was cold, but my DH said my daughter's lips looked blue! LOL. DH used the hot tub. The air temperature was not at all cold that evening, though. But all Disney pools are supposed to be heated to 82 degrees, I believe.

I've done 8 - 10 February trips to YC or BC over the last 15 years. On all but one of those trips, the weather and the pool have been warm enough to swim for at least part of the trip.
