S/P/D Book new ressie online, then cancel original?

If I am able to get S/P/D for POFQ online when it goes live tomorrow should I book it and then call to cancel my original reservation? Will the system even allow that?
I have to leave for work by 7:30, so the timing is close and we REALLY prefer POFQ. An upgraded room type isn't an issue as I already booked a River View room.

Opinions are appreciated from the other obsessive planners out there.

I believe that PORFQ was excluded from SPD. (Unless I missed something in the past 24 hours. I know that was the original report from those that were trying to book on Monday).

Standard rooms seem to have been excluded or extremely limited. You need to upgrade to garden view, etc.

I was told my 2 different CM today that you cant have 2 reservations for the same time for the same people, so I cancelled my original reservation this evening and will rebook in the morning

PORFQ is included.

In the room only discounts, it's just less of a discount.

As far as the SPD: Offer excludes Villas at Grand Floridian, Bay Lake Tower, Polynesian Villas (DVC) Rooms, Little Mermaid (i.e. Standard) rooms at Art of Animation Resort, campsites and 3-bedroom villas.

I did this last year. No issues. I was able to get the room i wanted anyways. So they adjusted my original reservation and canceled the new one i made.
I just wanted to make sure i got my room at the discount
