I did it.....DH and I decided to switch our January trip from offsite condo to CBR if available. The DK have never stayed on property and we figure this will be the last trip we all go on together. Schools around here suspend kids for taking vacations during school year in high school. With 5 Dcherubs we will not go on season, we are spoiled I know but the crowds and the weather argggg.....I feel panic setting in, lol!
Anyhow my questions for anyone with knowledge of CBR.....if we rent a fridge how big are they actually? Am I better off to bring or buy a cooler and fill it with ice. How is the pool? We requested Trinidad or Martinique, we were told these had the best rooms????? Any room preferences I should request?
Our reservations have guaranteed adjoining rooms, non smoking, the islands, and a note that our 9 yo is turning 10 the second day we are there. Anything else any of you can think of? I am so excited, I can not believe we are staying onsite!!!!! A great big thanks to our CRO Nonnie, what a terrific lady.....the best I have ever encountered!
Faith, trust, and pixie dust to all!!!!!

Good for you! We also chose CBR for our Easter trip, and are very excited. I believe the fridges are the same size as a little beer fridges that you can buy. We just fill our cooler with ice every day. The pool at this resort is why we chose to stay there because my youngest loves the whole castle theme. All of the rooms have been redone so you can't go wrong there, and the food court will be brand new for your trip. Have a great trip.

We love CBR and are heading there again in January . The main pool is very nice but we prefer the quiet pools. Each island has it's own and they are usually closer and never crowded. We've stayed in all sections, but our favorite section has become Trinidad South. It's the quietest and most removed area of the resort. After a hectic day at the parks the peace and quiet of this section is most welcome however it is about a 7-10 minute walk to the food court and main pool. If you have a large group or little ones then Martinique or Trinidad North may be a better choice.

We had a car but rarely used it . We were just there most recently in August and never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus at the resort or at the parks.

Have fun.
:D

CBR is a beautiful resort! :) I've stayed there twice; May 2001 and February 2002.

I believe the fridges are the basic mini-fridge size. Also, every room has 2 sinks. Some people fill one of the sinks with ice (replenishing the ice often), and use that as a fridge.

Martinique buildings 26, 25, and 24, as well as Trinidad NORTH (caution: Trinidad SOUTH is EXTREMELY far away from the main pool/food court area!) are good areas because they're close to the main pool, food court, and bus stops.

I have some pictures and info from my trips to CBR on my web pages. They are currently finishing work on remodeling the food court area as well as a new sit-down restaurant, so my pics will not represent what the new food court area looks like.

I hope you have a wonderful time! :)

Looks like it'll be okay. When we've been down we've seen coolers at Publix (not exaxtly cheap) that will also serve the purpose for in-room cooling.

Have a great time!

Loved CBR! Would recommend Martinique.... Trinidad North is good too, but I would try to avoid Trinidad South.... its too far away from the Food Court / Shopping Center.

Good luck!

We've got ressies for CBR in Aug. Requested either Martinique or Trinidad N. However....dd has fallen in love with the pictures of Jamaica, at least that'a the bldg. I think it is....yellow with blue roof?? Anyone have any feelings one way or another regarding this for a choice? Just 2 adults and an energetic 9 y/o dd going.

The Jamaica buildings ARE very pretty. You're right, they're the yellow and blue buildings. Jamaica is right across the lake from Old Port Royale (where the food court and main pool are). A lot of people enjoy taking that walk across the foot bridge to Parrot Cay then over to Old Port Royale, especially if you don't have very young children or any health issues where you might want to be a little closer. It's not a bad walk at all, especially in nice weather :)

Thanks SeaSpray. That's what I hoped you would say. We've stayed at POR twice and it has been no shorter than a 6 minute walk to the food court. Looks like I'll be changing my request to..Jamaica, non-smoking, corner room with double beds. Not toooo specific. Thanks again.

We'll be there in just over a week and I can't wait.

BTW SeaSpray thanks for the link to your pictures they were great :)

Hey there Fantasia Sam...we'll all be looking forward to the trip report!! Can't wait to find out how the renovations went. Have a great time!

We stayed at CBR in June and just loved it, as with everyone else we requested Martinique but couldn't get it we were in Jamica (I can't remember if it was 44 or 45) it was right accross the bridge from the main pllo and the food court and right by a quiet pool it was really nice. This is my new favorite resort, we just loved it, and had the best time.
