S/O: Wishes Dessert Party or Wishes FP+

Has anyone done both the dessert party and used a FP+ for Wishes? I'm wondering how the views compare? Can you see the castle show better from the FP+ viewing area than the dessert party?

I'm specifically asking with little kids in mind, who are too short to see over adults' heads, but too big to sit on our shoulders.

I have not seen Wishes with a FP+, but have watched it many times from the rose garden FP area. And have done the dessert party also. I would say they are about the same angle, a bit off to the right. The FP area would be looking up more since you are closer, as well as louder. Depending on the kids, the loudness could be a factor. The dessert area is great, Tink flies (assuming she is flying that night), right over your heads, and close to you, height-wise, because her flight ends on the roof over the dessert area.

I have dne both and all things considered, I prefer the FP+ option. BUT, we also spent more than 3 of our 8 days in MK and had some FP+ to spare.

The view wasn't great but the fireworks felt like they were right on top of you.

I advise bringing something to sit on (we bought a $1 shower curtain liner from dollar tree and threw it away afterwards) because the grass can get wet, mussy, cold, etc. It was nice to literally lay down on my back with my four year old cuddled in my arms and my wife laying on my stomach.

I don't know about the FP viewing area, but I think the dessert party is something worth doing once. We really enjoyed it!
