A reply talked about people not detecting fraud on their credit cards until the statement drops every 30 days. With online banking where you can instantly get your balances, how often do you check your bank statements?
I check mine every day to see if Social Security deposits have arrived, to see if auto payments have been made, to see if checks have cleared, to see if charges have hit the credit card. and to make sure credit card balances have not gotten out of hand.

Generally speaking, every day - at least just a quick pop in to see what's posted and how our investments are doing. All our funds are in one location now, with our investment advisors (Morgan Stanley).

Bank accounts...not every day, but multiple times per week. Investment vehicles are more set and forget. I also have alerts on those in case there's any unexpected activities.

Probably about once a week. Capital One gives me a notification every time it's used, so I don't even need to open the app to be aware of fraudulent charges.

DH and I check online all the time. I'm a believer (now) being "debt free: every month. :)

Bank accounts daily. CC accounts weekly. Investment accounts probably weekly, just out of curiosity of up or down, not that that makes any difference. Bank and CC accounts notify immediately if anything 'unusual' occurs.

depends on the (credit) card- Amazon and Costco are strictly used on Amazon and Costco so once or twice per month since I found that the (thankfully) one and only time fraudulent activity showed up both are quick to catch/resolve when it's outside the purchasing history (used outside the card name brand vendor). Amex maybe weekly but they are great on sending notifications if something hits, my credit union's weekly but they will do an outright personal phone call if something that looks off to them hits (including small 'fishing' purchases). I will never forget when I got a call early one morning from credit union investigations asking if they could correctly assume that I did NOT just authorize a tens of thousands of dollars lodging and park ticket purchase at Disney Japan (esp. since it was on the lowest line of credit card I held with them that was only used for kid's college text books AND they were speaking to me on my home landline so I obviously was NOT in Japan).

I check my bank statements once a month to balance them but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t know about fraud until 30 odd days have passed. Daily, I receive alerts of every bank transaction and credit card that involves an expense.
Got 2 more years before SS kicks in so nothing to look forward to on that end.

I review bank transactions on line almost every day but not statements. I review my main credit card every few days, and more closely when the statement is available.

Honestly, almost never. 98% of my transactions are digital, either through point-of-sale debit purchases or regular auto-pay for our monthly bills and of course our income is all direct deposit into the accounts. I only ever go into the banking app when I’m looking for something specific, like an Amazon refund or similar. DH handles the banking and I presume he tracks it closely enough to know what’s what. For the record, we have had bank fraud committed against us twice. Once years ago by an organized off-shore card skimming ring and more recently, major theft by a wayward bank employee here at the local level.

We don’t use credit cards very often and have never had any trouble there; we still get paper statements and we look at them monthly as they are paid.

I don't think I ever look at the actual statements. Yes, when I log in after paydays to see the balance every 2 weeks, it shows the last few transactions. I don't do many transactions, so it's pretty easy to see all the activity summarized on that one screen.
