We're heading back in Sept & we would LOVE to leave our coffee pot at home! As I recall, the only good place to get my yummy *foo-foo* coffee was Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach (not counted as a snack credit) Please someone, tell me WDW has changed since last summer?? TIA! ;)

Kona Island (coffee counter) over at the Polynesian has some mighty fine coffee. On the 2nd floor of the main building, sort of towards front of the building (near the Kona Cafe restaurant) Follow your nose...you'll smell the wonderful coffee!

Not that I've heard, but I know they have Starbucks at the Dolphin & Swan and I think the coffee at the Polynesian is good. I doubt if Disney will ever give up on Nescafe. I agree about taking a pot and coffee. It's just more to pack!

Yummm! Starbuck's at the Dolphin & Swan???? I NEVER knew this! Please, oh please, let this be true! :dance3: We've never been there but I will certainly be checking it out on my next trip.

Does Kona Island have really wierd hours? We eat at O'hana's for b/fast AND dinner every trip. It seems like everytime we are there Kona Island is closed.?.?... :thanks:

Hey all! Starbucks has new instant coffee! It comes in small packages and is available in two different flavors. Check it out here.

Edited to say I haven't actually tried it yet but am considering buying some for my trip in less than two weeks.

Let me clarify....we don't eat there for EVERY meal...we eat there for b/fast at least once during our trip & for dinner at least once during our trip. (Didn't want you to think we were psycho or anything!!) :rotfl2:

That's an idea! I guess we're a bit wimpy. Starbuck's COFFEE is too strong for us. We just like the Starbuck's *foo-foo* drinks (Caramel Machiatto, lattes, mochas, etc....) Even for our coffee here at home we add sugar, cream, whipped cream, & a squirt of caramel ice cream topping. (I know, it's terrible!!)

Hahahah NO, I actually hate their coffee. I just drink the specialty drinks (yes that's right - specialty, not foo foo!! lol)

I just have that instant vanilla creamer that coffeemate has and plan on adding it to the coffee. It tastes burned to me with just regular creamer so thats why I get the flavored one! I'll let you know how it is.

Yes, they have Starbucks--but just coffee. None of the foo-foo drinks as my DH likes to call them (I drink cappucinos and frappucinos. Because no where has them on DH property, about midway through the trip, we get in the car and go to the closet Starbucks for my fix.

Sorry to say...DH tried the two different flavors this week. He gave it a resounding YUK! Said it tastes like instant coffee and the flavor not very good.

I don't know what Kona Island coffee bar hours are, but we were at Kona Cafe for breakfast in January...breakfast ADR was for 7:30 a.m. and the Kona coffee bar was a very busy place between 7:30 & 8:15 when we left, so it's open early anyway.

Say it ain't so!!!!!!! I was really getting excited about Swan & Dolphin. :sad2: Where do you go to find a Starbucks? It seems like we found one at one of the outlet malls last summer?

I hate to hear that about Kona! How can it be, that THE most successful vacation destination in the world can't brew a good cup of coffee? :confused3

I believe the closest one is on 535. If you go off the Disney property via the Marketplace and turn right at the very end (you'll see Uno's Pizza, etc.) you go down about 1 or 1-1/2 miles. It will be on your left. If you do a mapquest you'll probably get a better response than me. As I said, we usually do this about midway through the trip. Luckily, the cappucinos at the Pepper Market at the CSR where we stay aren't too bad and I can hold off until then. The Expresso spot in Epcot and the one in the Studios is not too bad either.

Kona is fabulous :) Also, some table service restaurants brew their own 'good' coffee. Just ask and they'll totally know what you're talking about. It was like the running joke when we were there with the waiters. I want to say Tony's, Le Cellier, Chefs de France, Ohana, Kona, Grand Floridian Cafe, and a few others we went to all made REAL coffee. :) Just don't go to the stands! lol

Oh no!! How disappointing. I look at them everyday in Starbucks before class and tell myself I'm going to buy it for Disney. Thanks for the warning though because now I won't!

At this point, the real question is: Which is worse - Starbucks instant coffee or Nescrap????

We were just there in January and both my DH and I thought the coffee was much better than previous trips but i don't know why, they were still the nescafe machines:confused3

Thanks! I think we'll *TRY* Kona & hope for the best. We're getting ADR for O'hana's twice, so maybe we can have good WDW coffee at least twice during our stay!! :rotfl2: I guess we'll also bring our coffee pot, just so we can have the good stuff first thing in the am. There's nothing like staying out till midnight at WDW, then waking up to Nescafe!!!

One year we asked our Boma server if their coffee was any good (who can eat zebra domes w/out a good cup of joe?) And the server raved about it. Soooo, we paid OOP (like $10 or so?) for their very own special Boma coffee. It was absolutely disgusting!!! To answer my own question, WE ate zebra domes w/out a good cup of joe.

Thanks. I didn't know Swan & Dolphin had Starbucks coffee. I just assumed we would have to head over to Shades of Green before hitting any of the parks. Well, let me rephase that...DH would have to hit SOG before we hit the parks...lol. :lovestruc

I know I've asked this on a few threads before- but never get a sure answer LOL so does anyone know if the Kona Island speciality drinks count as a snack credit? we will be staying at the Poly for our next trip, and can see morning trips in DHs future LOL
I think we will bring our coffee pot anyway- I am so picky about my coffee.. during our last trip I brought one of those little ones- cause I was only drinking simply smooth- now I am crazy about my dolce gusto LOL so I've gotta have my morning lattes LOL

We stayed at the Dolphin in July and I think that they have starbucks brand coffee, but they don't actually have a STARBUCKS, that is, no lattes, caramel macchiatos, etc.

Nearest Starbucks store (there are 2) is 5 miles from the Boardwalk Resort. There is one in the Mariott 2.7 miles from Boardwalk but that would take longer than driving thru a store 5 miles away.
