I am a planner and like to think everything through before the trip.

I would love some advice from those of you that have a Disney Visa cards. And have used there rewards and benefits at Disneyland.

I don't have many Reward points. What the best thing to use them on. I am thinking about using them for meals.

I read somewhere about a meet and greet for Disney Visa card members in CA. Is this worth it? Or is the time better spent on rides in the morning.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jen

We used ours to buy park tickets. I purchased tickets on line and used the points card to pay for them.
Im afraid if I planned to pay for food with the rewards dollars, I would either buy things I dont need or end up not having used all my points at the end of the vacation

You can use your Reward points at many places at Disneyland - for vacation packages, shopping, dining, room charges, and tickets. The full list of choices can be found here. It really doesn't matter where you use them; they are redeemable for the same value ($1/point) at any location that takes them.

The key thing to remember is that once you have your points loaded onto a Rewards card (which is separate from your credit card), you must use those points before the Rewards card expires (which is one year and the expiration date will be marked on the card).

I've used this each of the past 2 (or 3?) years, and there was never a long line. It's nice to have a souvenir photo for each trip. A Photopass photographer will take several pictures of your family with the characters, and you can also ask them to take a picture using your digital camera, if you have it with you. They give you a voucher for a free 5x7 photo, which you take to the Photopass center to redeem later the same day. The location can vary from year to year, so be sure to check out the Disney Visa theme park perks guide before you go.

I use my DRVC exclusively for my Disney trips. I purchased the DRVC vacation package from the WDTC and recently received the package you get. I posted the unboxing here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2371061 I only posted it some people get a got kick out of it last time. Couple other notes:

- If you buy a package through the WDTC with your DRVC then you pay no interest on the purchase for 6 months.
- You get 50% off on stroller rentals (used to be free... oh well)
- You can use the rewards card anywhere you can use gift cards. Just make sure to transfer the points to the card.
- You can get the rewards card in Disneyland if you didn't order one ahead of time.

I save mine up and use them on souvenirs. You can get a 10% discount if you purchase $50 or more at most DL stores. That way I don't feel so guilty buying over priced merchandise that I can certainly live without, but have to have! I have also used my rewards on the Disney Cruise Line and added them to my onboard account.

When I had a card, we just used the points towards our vacation package to WDW. But since I live so close to DL, we ended up canceling the card. We got better rewards on a different card, so there was no point.
