So everyone says their dessets are awesome, but how about a CS here? do they have good sandwiches? And I read that they close early, so what's a good strategy for hitting this place, what to order, and making sure I get whatever is good before they close or sell out? Do they sell out of stuff? When exactly do they close?

I can't give you a strategy, but their menu is very limited. They have only two types of sandwich (black forest ham and turkey focaccia) and a veggie pita. The only child's option (for those on the dining plan) is Uncrustables peanut butter and jelly. I haven't been there in a long time but the sandwiches I remember were quite large and probably suitable for sharing.

The sandwiches here were excellent. I had their black forest ham on focaccia. It is a large stack of ham trying to emulate a place like the Carnegie deli.
You also get a bag of chips with it. I mention this because they are Miss Vickie's and they have about 10 different flavors. I really like the jalapeno ones.

For a beverage they do have the option of espresso or latte made with real coffee, not the usual Disney stuff.

The for dessert they have really nice cupcakes.
The Butterfinger was OK (it looks amazing), but I would recommend the white or milk chocolate one. I wish they had a Dark Chocolate one.
There is just not enough cake and not enough Butterfinger with the Butterfinger one.
(the cupcake has a chocolate center that was just too much)

As for what time they close I am not sure. I would guess around 2, but I hear the sandwiches are gone before they close.

The sandwiches are officially available at 11:30 am, but I usually was able to get one at 10:30 and have it as a late breakfast early lunch.

Also there is not a lot of seating so I would try to get there early.

We ate there in September and loved the sandwiches. DH had the ham and chips and I had the Turkey with an apple. Both were huge and delicious. I didn't have room for my brownie so my son ate it. I would not recommend the kids choice though - uncrustables. Go elsewhere. But for adult options, the sandwiches are yummy!

Question? I want to get the veggie pita b/c it's VERY difficult for me to find vegetarian food at DHS, BUT, the rest of the family is too limited here (including my dd who is a vegetarian but will need to eat on the child's menu).

Anyway, what I was hoping to do was to get my meal here and then they would get their meals at Studio catering Co. Can I just get my meal to go and we all eat at Studio Catering Co.? I guess I should look at the map, but I didn't even know if you could take CS to go, I never tried it! :confused3

I just did a review in my dining report linked below. I hate the turkey foccacia. It was HUGE and very good. The cupcakes are amazing

And to the PP asking about to go, you can ask for carry out containers anywhere.

I do this all the time.:thumbsup2 My family usually does not want either of the sandwiches so I get my Turkey sandwich, a drink and a dessert (Tiramisu if available) and then I meet them at the place they want to eat. There is limited seating and usually the rest of the family will all order at one place, so it makes sense to meet them there and eat with them. And they always have take out containers. I think a lot of people do this since they have limited seating.

I ate there in October during the afternoon parade. It's got a small outdoor eating area that gets pretty full up around "typical" meal times. And as a solo, no one could/would save a table for me. But during the parade it's relatively empty there. More importantly, although I had a snack, I saw several people who were there around the same time get sandwiches. I wish I knew other slow times there, because it looked pretty crowded most of the time.

Thanks for all of these encouraging comments. We have browsed this place a few times on previous trips but were never sure if we should try it. With the absolutely dreadful CS food choices at DHS it is nice to see some positive comments. Maybe we will give this a try next trip.

We tried Pizza Planet once but now we always eat here for lunch because the sandwiches and desserts are really good. Plus our DD loves Uncrustables even though they look totally inedible to me, I tried to give her some of my Turkey foccacia last time but she didn't want any of it.

I've ordered the Grapefruit Cake there - they can get you a slice from the Brown Derby.

What comes on the sandwiches? Turkey and cheese (Ham and cheese) and what else or do that put stuff on the sides?

Thanks.
