How is the weather mid May-early june, is it easy or ahrd to book at 7 month window at this time (2 bd), do they have organized kids activities for 3 y/o. Lastly does anyone know how far it would be from Myrtle beach. A friend owns a condo ther and I thought about tacking on a couple of days . thanks for the info

I just booked a two bedroom for the second week of June.... they were booked solid the 3rd and 4th weeks of June... our first choice, and I didnt ask about May...

They do have a lot of activieties there, for all ages. I know when I was there, my girls (3 and 2 at the time) had loads of fun... painting crab catchers, the fish painting thing, crabbing...

HTH!

I was talking to some of the cms yesterday. April is busy here, with spring breaks and Easter, but May slows down quite a bit. Then summer hits...;)

We were there the 1st week of June last year and the weather was perfect. Friends got into a 1 bdrm through the waitlist(they are harder to come by) I think they got put on the waitlist at 4 or 5 months out.
My daughter was 3 last year, and did the Unbirthday Party, Disney Discovery Club(?) which was a 3 hour program about butterlies-they did crafts, sang, went to the butterfly garden dressed up like butterflies(so adotable!), saw a puppet show etc.-both of those activities were sans parents.
She also painted a birdhouse and a butterfly house. I think it says that it's for ages 5 and up on those, but as long as a parent is there with the child, any age child can do those painting activities.
We met Shadow during Shadow's Tales, learned how to juggle(well I did anyway), saw B'Lou's magic show, went to the campfires. They also have Toddler Tales for the kids.
There is so much to do..or you can do nothing at all, my daughter asks to go back at least once every few days. Go, go, go!!:teeth:

Tara, Hilton Head is 2 hours South of Charleston (where I am) and Myrtle Beach is 2 hours North of Charleston so 4 hours if you go Hwy 17. If you go on the Interstate it might be 3 hours.

May and early June is a wonderful time to go. Not quite as hot but a lot going on. You may miss some of the outdoor activities though like Shannon Tanner. We'll likely be on the Island Memorial Day weekend but may not be staying at DVC.

we drove from my parents house to HHI on Interstate 95 and with the usual 1/2 slow traffic once you get off of the Interstate to get on to the actual island, it took 4 hours.
