1. Is the food much different than TH (which we did not like)?
2. Better for lunch or dinner?
3. What time do they stop serving breakfast?
4. Is it worth missing time from AK (our second fav. park) to eat at Boma?
5. Would you pick Boma or Yak and Yeti (with 3 kids)?

Since we have not eaten at either TH or Yak & Yeti I can only answer one of your questions.

We took our granddaughters (ages 7 & 10) to Boma for dinner after the close of our day at AK. It was a short bus ride over there (we left AK prior to the close of park rush.) All four of us enjoyed our dinner there. There was enough variety to suit everyone. I would not want to take the time out of the middle of my AK day to do lunch at Boma. We do most breakfasts in our resort room.

Editing to add: thanks Lynne for reminding us that Boma does not offer lunch. I prefer cs at lunch time in AK just so that we can maximize our activity time. We had ADRs lined up for Yak & Yeti in case of bad weather, but when our days turned out clear I called and cancelled. It does look like a fun place for a meal. Our favorite AK lunch destination is Flame Tree barbeque and we select a table outdoors under a roof overlooking the lagoon and EE.

Boma is a buffet with many African dishes but along with those they have typical American fare that will attrack children like chicken nuggets, mac/cheese, spaghetti etc.. They have salads, roasted beef along with Boboti and cous-cous etc. We love Boma and so does my son, he's loved it since he was 7, (now 13) but he has always eaten adult food. At Boma your 13 year old will be considered an adult and will have to pay the adult charge which some object to especially if they are light or picky eaters.

Yak and Yeti in my book is acceptable chinese food, and like all other Disney restaurants it has the typical kids meals. DS(13) has never eaten off the kids menu so he eats everything chinese other than shrimp!

As far as breakfast or lunch we aren't big breakfast eaters so I prefer the nightime offerings at Boma.

Look at Allearsnet.com for menu's etc., you know your kids and how and what they like to eat, what I think really can't help you much!

With 3 kids, I would go with lunch or dinner at Yak & Yeti so you can spare yourself the up-and-down routine that comes with a buffet.

I don't think you should take time away from park plans for b'fast at Boma. It's a great choice for a special breakfast if you're staying at AKL, but I wouldn't make a special trip over for it. The food at dinner is good, but again, I'd rather a sit-down meal any day. If you didn't like Tusker House, I do think they're supposed to be similar.

At Yak & Yeti they have some great options for kids and it's a neat atmosphere. My boys were 6 and 4 last time we were there and gobbled up their noodles. And full service means getting to sit the whole time! :thumbsup2

1. Is the food much different than TH (which we did not like)? I hear it is very similar
2. Better for lunch or dinner? Breakfast is a million times better
3. What time do they stop serving breakfast? I think Boma stops at 11am
4. Is it worth missing time from AK (our second fav. park) to eat at Boma? For breakfast yes for dinner no
5. Would you pick Boma or Yak and Yeti (with 3 kids)? Boma for breakfast of Y&Y for dinner, either is a great choice

We have eaten at Boma two times, and thought it was o.k. I have 3 boys, ages 6,9,12. It wasn't bad, we were just not overly impressed.

We have eaten at Yak & Yeti 1 time and plan to go back on our next trip. We enjoyed the food here very much, my oldest son and my dh and I ordered off the adult menu and all had really good food, the ribs are awesome, my dh had some shrimp skewer dish and my son had the honey chicken.

If your time is limited at AK, I personally would eat at Yak and Yeti than commuting over to Boma for lunch.

Totally agree!
