It took me a couple of years before I realized why AK is my least favorite park but it is the sidewalks.
They aren't wide enough and can, in places, just fit a just a few across. There also isn't a lot of places to pull over so to speak and look at a map. Not to mention it isn't straight like the WS. (I know it is meant to recreate natural paths but it is terrible crowd management.)
It takes forever to walk around because it is impossible to pass the slow moving foot traffic. Plus, there is the natural slow down in traffic when 8 people across narrows to 4 across, like trying to get into the Lincoln tunnel.
You really need to watch where you are walking and I find it impossible to just amble around and look at the beautiful themeing when you really need to concentrate on walking.
I saw the worst scooter accident there a couple of years ago. A family stops to look at a map right when it narrows (natch) and the only way to go around them is single file on the left or right but since there is no law that everyone go left people start to pass them single file on both the right and left in both directions. It was a huge traffic jam. So a woman stops short to avoid slamming straight into another guest coming at her but the scooter behind her couldn't stop that quickly and took out her ankle. She went down like she was shot. I felt sorry for everyone involved.
Those sidewalks are not meant for any sort of crowd. I'd like to hear how long it took for others to exit Rivers of Light. I bet this will turn into a big issue.
