Ryan Cabrera was at Irving Plaza last night.
that's a small NYC venue, tickets are general admission/standing room only.
my older dd loves ryan. so I bought four tickets, and my two sisters took dd and one of her girlfriends. they got there in the early afternnon, they wanted to be first on line so that they could stand near the stage. (I am not good with "standing room only" venues.)
so they were standing on line when they met four other young ladies who were also waiting to get inside. the four other girls were from the Bronx. two of them were cheerleaders, as are dd and her friend.
some guy named Josh Hogue opened for cabrera. his tour bus was parked in front of the theater. he came out of his bus and was hanging out with the girls for awhile.
so they go inside. the girls all head for the stage, and my sisters go upstairs to the balcony. and you'll never guess who was sitting in the VIP lounge:
in fact, cabrera invited him onto the stage and he sang one song.
anyhow, last year, when dd saw Jesse McCarntey at the Hammerstein Ballroom, some of Jesse's friends were there. they tried to lift up one of the girls to see better, but they weren't cheerleaders and didn't know how to do it. so she tells the other girls, and since they are cheerleaders...my dd stood on their hands. ryan winked at her and sang to her.
then the securty guard came over to her and scolded her.
