The cast:

Paul, 37 years young - a fully paid-up Disneyaholic
Helen, younger in years and looks - the most organised member of the family
Ryan, 5 months old - a Disney fan in the making

Today is a special day as Ryan is exactly five months old. We make up our minds to spend a quiet day around the resort before heading off to Epcot this evening. We need some groceries so I head off to Winn Dixie and on the way back make a stop at the marketplace to pick up the newly-released Lion King DVD.

Back at the Boardwalk we make our way down to the quiet pool to relax, swim with Ryan and generally chill out. On our first trips we tended to attach the parks commando-style (I’m not talking underwear here :D), but these days the whole affair is much more laid-back, with plenty of time for rest and relaxation.

We nip back to the room to freshen up and then we’re off to Epcot for our PS at Le Cellier, probably our favourite restaurant in the whole of WDW. I had the cheddar cheese soup, the lobster and steak surf and turf, plus a couple of beers, whilst Helen went for Filet Mignon and Crème Brulee. The entire meal was delicious, and probably the most perfect of the entire trip. The servers had great fun with Ryan and commented on what a cute baby he is. Is this a good time to mention that many people think he shares my looks?

We’re too full following the meal to venture onto any rides so we content ourselves with a walk around Mousegear before finding a spot for Reflections of Earth in front of Germany. This proves to be a great position, with an excellent view of the Earth as it emerges from its dock and not too crowded either. Ryan is worn out from his swimming earlier and manages to sleep through the whole event, even the ultra-loud bangs of the finale! After the show we walk back to the BW via the International Gateway, stopping for a while to look at the Friendship launches going back and forth across Crescent Lake. The BW is such a beautiful place at night and when I see it lit up at night it reminds me just how lucky we are stay here.

The stillness and peace and quiet after Epcot causes Ryan to stir and we feed him a bottle back in the room till he drops off again. Finally there is just time for a cup of tea and a slice of cheesecake in front of ‘Whose line is it anyway?’ before we turn in.

Day 9, Magical Wishes

Absolutely - the 'feature' pool is nice too, but for those times that you just want some peace and quiet it's perfect. It's also open until midnight, which can be very useful when you come back from a hot evening at the parks and want to cool down.

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.
