The cast:

Paul, 37 years young - a fully paid-up Disneyaholic
Helen, younger in years and looks - the most organised member of the family
Ryan, 5 months old - a Disney fan in the making

After the late night at Mickey’s Halloween Party we decided to have a bit of a lie-in and just chill out in the room for a bit. Cream cheese bagels on the balcony for breakfast whilst admiring the view and soaking up the sunshine. Ah, yet another perfect day!

Decided to take a leisurely stroll to MGM and were amazed at the crowds – Columbus Day is next week but the place definitely had a ‘holiday’ feel about it. The wait time for Tower of Terror is showing as 90 minutes, with Fastpass returns over 5 hours away – perhaps we can do this another day. Decide to head over to the Millionaire show and just creep in with the last few stragglers. Strangely this seems to be the one place in the whole park that isn’t packed, but the theatre is still 75% full I would guess. Millionaire fever seems to have peaked a little in the US now but there is still plenty of enthusiasm to get into the hot seat. A couple of trips ago both Helen and I made it into the chair before tripping-up at 32,000 points on US-specific questions but this time the best I can manage is 8th on the final board.

Headed off to the Little Mermaid but this time just missed out on the next show – ah well, it all seems to even itself out over the trip. The wait time was pretty short however, and Ryan was very impressed with the puppets and bubbles blowing out over the audience. Maybe it’s just me, but the show seems shorter than before – didn’t Sebastian used to have a bigger role?

The park is absolutely heaving by now, so we decide an afternoon by the Boardwalk pool might be a good idea instead and stroll back along the footpath. Ryan helps himself to a gourmet lunch of baby rice and formula whilst we snack on potato chips between dips in the pool; a relaxing afternoon is had by all.

Today’s evening meal is at Chilli’s in Lake Buena Vista, recommended in a couple of trip reports we read recently. We ordered a plate of nachos to start (huge portion!), a mushroom and swiss burger for me and the country-fried steak for Helen. This was a steak coated in batter with white sauce, mashed potato, corn on the cob and garlic bread. The atmosphere was great, very relaxed and Ryan and his stroller were made very welcome. Including drinks and tip the check came to around $25 – amazing value.

We stopped off at Downtown Disney on the way back to the BW to have a walk around and bought a nifty legionnaire-style sun hat to protect Ryan from the Florida sunshine as well as an autograph book that we can use on future visits. We’re intending to paste in pictures of the various characters so they can sign their names opposite – should be a lovely keepsake in years to come. We also got our first sight of Saratoga Springs across the lake – the resort seems huge, and very close to the Marketplace. I’m not sure if we’ll stay here in the future, but with 39 more years of DVC vacations there’s a good chance I guess. Back to BW and a (relatively) early night.

Day 7, Good weather for Donald

SSR looks massive doesn't it - I expect we will be trying it one day too :)

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.
