RV "car wash" near the fort??

We will be checking into the Fort on Thursday 2/26.!!
We are driving down from PA. The roads here have been covered with salt since October.
I have a question.
1) Is there a place close to the fort to wash your Motor Home? OR
2) Can you wash your Motor Home at your site??

I have seen people wash their rigs at the Fort.

I have also had my Fiver washed and waxed at the Fort. There is a business that drives around the Fort who will wash and wax your rig for you. I have seen them just about every time I am at the Fort. I have their business card but it is in my Fiver so I cannot give you any more information.

There is a self-service car wash on 192 right next door to Camping World. We stopped in there on the way in on our trip in October and went over the truck and camper right quick.

Don't remember if the bays are big enough for a bigger rig though.

I've seen huge dumptrucks and box trucks in the car wash across from Camping World.
I get there by making a left out of The Fort and going about 4 miles to Wintergarden Vineland Road (go through the place where it says authorized vehicles only) make a right on Wintergarden Vineland and go to S.Apopka-Vinland road (535) and make a right. Go past The Crossroads/DTD and on until you pass Walmart on the right, make the next right after Walmart onto N Poinciana Blvd, the car wash and Camping World are at the other end at 192.
Thats the best way I've found to get to it. With no traffic its about 10 mins, with traffic it can take an hour lol.

We did it on our way in, so followed 429 all the way to 192 then East on 192.

I believe it is a standard car wash with the 8' height limitation if I recall correctly. My rig would not fit.

I am sure the one I am talking about is a lot higher than 8', its at least 10 and more like 12' high. If it was something someone needed they could call Camping World and they would be able to tell them or go to Google Earth and drive right in the door.

Thank you all for the info. I think my husband will wash it when we get to our site. I will help by getting the kids out of his hair and taking them looping in the cart!!!

Amazing Detailing (407/575-8336) charged me $100 to wash my 38' MH and the same for my friend's 29' fiver. He has been charging $200 more for a polishing. He and his crew work very hard and do a great job.

I found some one online this morning
DLUXMANN'S MOBILE AUTO & RV DETAILING I got a price of $288 to wash and wax my 36 foot bus. More if it needs to be compounded. They say they have done several at the fort. Has anyone ever used them? I'll be happy to have a clean motorhome

We also used DLUXMANN'S MOBILE AUTO & RV DETAILING (352) 536-5933 during our stay....they were on time, very professional, Their prices were affordable & better than some other quotes we recieved. AND they cleaned our roof & awning at NO EXTRA CHARGE! Since we had to leave early for the parks, we just worked out a place to leave the check, & when we retuned that evening....our coach was beautiful. I will use them whenever we come back to Fort Wilderness again! NO HASSLES & A QUALITY JOB!

I have never used a service to wash my RV, or anything else for that matter. But on our last stay I noticed one of our neighbors getting all shined up by these folks.

I have seen many hiring the washing of their rigs. I have also seen many washing their own. If it is just a matter of knocking off the dirt/love bugs from the trip, a quick wash with an extension brush and a bucket of soap and water doesn't take that long, and I can use that $100 to buy breakfast for the wife and me at TE!

This looks like a standard height carwash. Usually truck bays are much taller and wider.

Not near the Fort exactly, but most truck washes will was your rig for you. We just took a 2 week trip to FL for Christmas and both the truck and trailer were wicked salty from the roads up in CT and PA when we left. We stopped at a place called Louis' Truck Wash in GA that is at the same exit as Savannah South KOA off of I-95. They did a fantastic job. Their google address is weird, though, so if anyone goes there, it is directly across from the TA at the exit - easy access.

While I understand the need for a clean RV, I think the carwash idea OFFSITE is the best option. We have been at the Fort many times, and have had neighbors leave for the parks for the day, and have these companies come in to clean while they are gone. This has happened on more than one trip!

This is a wonderful service for them, however for the folks wanting and PAYING to relax at the Fort the constant hum of their powerwashers is HORRIBLE!!! We planned an "at Fort" day to relax, and were left with powerwasher noise and soapsuds and water running into our site!!!!

Please understand that there are others who pay to enjoy the site not just the parks.

To the best of my knowledge there are no more mobile rv washer permitted in the Fort. We were there 10 days and didn't see any on this trip or Spring Break 2012.

I agree the noise is a bit much when it is close to you.

I have used the car wash next to Camping World. I have a 33' fiver with a golf cart on the back. My total length of trailer is 41' and I fit through fine. It's not cheap as far as car washes go but way cheaper than a mobile detailing company. You swipe a credit card and it charges you by the minutes used. I washed my truck, camper and golf cart and I think I spent $20 or so. Brushes and wands on both sides so you don't have to stretch the hose over anything and scratch something. Plenty of room as far as height too. There was a big MH behind me.
