Russell And Dug?

Is it possible to meet Russell and Dug without going through the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail? I don't really remember too much about the trail, but if I recall correctly it's geared toward little kids. I'm 25 but I'd really like a picture with the two of them since Up was such a cute movie. I'm assuming they're not always hanging out at the Challenge Trail either, right? Do they wander around California Adventure? T.I.A.

You will need to go into Redwood Creek, the trails wander around you don't have to go up the tower.

You don't have to go through the obstacles. You do have to enter the Redwood area and they will have a "graduation" ceremony and Russell will be available at the end of the ceremony for photos. We caught Dug on our way out near the exit. Have fun! Russell is super cute!

Russell is available after you go through a Senior Wilderness Explorer ceremony where Kevin makes a cameo. You can ask for the times from the CM at the front of the attraction. About 10 minutes after the ceremony, Dug comes out as well, but near the entrance. Dug was seriously a highlight for my summer trip because he was so adorable!

I had no idea you could meet them!!!!

I go there all the time and love those characters.....but I've never done the trail. Who else can you meet there?!

When we were at DCA earlier this month, Dug and Kevin were both available for photos just in front of the Redwood Creek attraction. You didn't have to go inside at all.

Unfortunately Russel doesn't do autographs . Just so you're aware. But Kevin does pictures??! I must go back!!!

By a cameo I mean a few seconds at a time, I didn't catch a picture. It is during the Senior Wilderness Explorer ceremony and Kevin pops his head out a few times in various places. He is a puppet. It was cute.

Just make sure and check the schedule because it is only open for the first 2 days of my trip, October 1st and October 2nd, then it shows it being closed for the rest of my trip (Monday October 3rd - Wednesday October 5th). Is it only a weekend thing?

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is undergoing a refurb if I remember correctly. I think that is the reason why it is closed on those days.

I'll be there this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I can't find the ceremony on the schedule though. I'm not at a computer so maybe I'm overlooking it on my phone. I hope I can get a picture with them!
