Running @ SSR

Heading to SSR on Saturday - am looking for good running path/trail - preferrably a 5 mile loop. I know i can run from SSR to DTD - but not sure the distance.

if you have a good 5 mile loop from SSR (to anywhere) that you are willing to share, i would greatly appreciate it.

Hey DVC SSR neighbor! The trip to DTD isn't but a few miles round trip. I dont know of a good route for you but you can always plug in SSR's address (1960 broadway lake buena vista, fl) into the website mapmyrun.com and calculate something from there. HOWEVER, I know a lot of those roads dont have side walks so jus be careful on those road shoulders. anther option (a boring one for us outdoor runners) is SSR's amazing gym! They have great equipment including state of the art treadmills!

Depending on where you are in SSR, I ran an approximate five mile loop by exiting SSR going to DTD. From there I ran down the Hotel road to 535 (by the Crossroads). I turned around and ran back to DTD through PI and the West side and looped back to SSR (around the boat dock). I probably didn't describe it the best but if you look at the map it's pretty clear. Going through DTD is best early to aviod the crowds.

If you want to stay off the roads (there are very few sidewalks along the main roads in Disney) you might like running from SSR over to the Marketplace section of DTD, then follow it around and take the path from DTD to Old Key West. Run to the end of OKW and then back to SSR, taking the bridge across. You can fill out the rest of the 5 at SSR, depending on where you want to start and finish.

The only thing about this route is that it is a bit on the secluded side - better if you have a partner, I think. The thing about the "jogging trails" at Disney resorts is that they generally tend to be about a mile, which can get old if you want to do more than 2 or 3 miles.
