Haven't read any of the other posts, but I've alwas had really strong feelings about rodeos and bullfighting. My Spanish teacher in high school, a true Spainard, had a heck of a time with me becuase it was such a important part of the heritage and culture.
I think the whole deal is just wrong. It's torture. No animal deserves to die a long and tortured death. With the running, I think it's just lunacy. They're wild animals you idiots! It's the whole "It will never be me." Well, guess what? It was. I think when you play with bulls, you play with the brute strength and horns on the animal, too. When you're running from them with thousands of other people, let's remember the component of being tripped or run over by people and the animals.
It's nuts. All of it is just nuts. A show of ego and "strength" that usually ends in tragedy. I respect that it's a rich part of the culture even if I don't understand it or agree with it (ETA: but why do tourists get involved?!) but I sure don't like it.
ETA: Would all those who ran kindly remove themselves from the gene pool?
