I order this running "skort" in a zebra print (which who knew they even made something like this).

Very cute! I like option 1. :thumbsup2

Thanks! That's good to know where it is finally. It's going to be really inconvenient for us because we'll be all the way over in Kidani... I know they don't have a quick service restaurant so if I want breakfast at the hotel, do I have to go all the way over to Jambo? I wonder how close they really are.. I feel like that could get annoying...

It would be about a 10 minute walk from Kidani to Jambo House but you can take any park bus except the DTD one and get dropped off. Either way it's kind of a hassle. They really need to add a QS place at Kidani.

Oh my god that running skirt is so perfect! I like the mickey t shirt idea the best. I have the zebra print one in white and another with a sparkly leopard print mickey head in black.

Right now I'm planning on the Princess Half, the Expedition Everest Challenge and the Wine and Dine again for 2012 but depending on airfare prices I may end up doing more. There's some new race about to be announced this month too so that may change my plans.

We're planning a family trip for next August which will include Scott's 4 kids so the cash flow is going to be a bit tight next year.

My skirt arrived in the mail yesterday and I love it! I'm going to take a pic tonight to post tomorrow! Or I may wait till I finish my shirt too but I'm so happy with my choice and the skirt is comfy from what I can tell. I'm going to do a practice run in it this week since I washed it last night!

As of right now, I would really like to do all of the half marathons in 2012! The one I'm most looking forward to is the Princess half though! But, we'll see how that goes...

You can also count me in. I've read 2 of your TR and I think they are great

I like the yeti idea. don't know how easy it would be to make one but go for it

Thanks for joining! I liked the Yeti idea too but I thought I'd be too hot so I went with the zebra instead!

Thanks! My skirt came in the mail yesterday so I'll post pictures soon!

Hm, 10 minutes isn't too bad and if you didn't have to wait for a bus it wouldn't be bad but it'd be easier if their was just a place at kidani. Maybe will pick stuff up for breakfast at night and keep it in the fridge or whatever for the next day. Since it's a studio we'll have a toaster and everything in the morning too.

When training for the half marathon, DBF and I followed Jeff Galloway's training schedule and use his run walk ratio at 5 min run / 1 min walk. This went out the window on race day. We ended up running the first 5 miles without stopping, made a bathroom break, then ran 3 more miles without stopping. After that, we ran the whole thing except we took a 1 minute walk break at each mile marker. We also stopped for another bathroom break around mile 8 1/2 and we slowed/stopped for a couple pictures along the way. That being said, the training worked for us and I would do it again. I know you're suppose to train like you plan to run so we may switch it up a little but overall I thought it worked out well in the end.

Now, training for the 5k is a lot less intense (and shorter!) than for the half. But, I'm still technically following Galloway's training schedule for a 5k. Twice a week (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays I run for 30 minutes) then on Saturdays I run the designated mileage for that week. Sundays are off days and on Mondays and Wednesdays I try to take short walks but it's hard because I work and then attend school at night. That all being said, it's been fairly easy training for our upcoming Expedition Everest 5k because I just ran the ESPN 5k last month and continued running when I got home.

So, I'll try to post days after workouts and tell you how I did because I figure if I have to "check-in" with all of you, it'll keep me from slacking off!

After reading Mickey_Mom's PTR last fall, I really wanted to have my own movie nights! But, I was traveling with my mom and she lived two hours away and I couldn't seem to talk DBF into going along with it. However, when I was able to talk him into traveling back WDW only 4 months after he was just there and he was already planning to go to DL in Sept that I may have a better chance. So, one night I just exclaimed that we would be doing it and he didn't put up too much of a fight so the planning began.

Our first movie night was scheduled to be March 22. We were going to watch Cinderella and have a very regal meal of Turkey, mashed potatoes, and corn. Well, the meal turned out great but the night before I realized I didn't own Cinderella :confused3 and well it's in the Disney vault and unavailable for purchase so we ended up watching Avatar with our regal dinner :headache:

Then, DBF left to go to Ireland for a week for work. So, our second movie night, March 29 ended up consisting on my mom and I (since she came to keep me company). I took pictures but they're on my mom's camera which she took home with her so I'll have to post them later. But, we watched Peter Pan and we had Pirate Ship pizzas, buried treasure, and Neverland cookie sandwiches.

So, needless to say, I'm really hoping tonight goes better and I'll at least have something to post for you all to see tomorrow!

My movie nights are cursed...

Tuesday night was suppose to be movie night at my house. Well, I came home from work and I was planning on running and then starting dinner. But, I realized that our puppy, Lilo, was acting a little funny. She's usually very active and hyper and running around but on this day, she wouldn't walk and she just sat there crying. It took a minute but I soon realized the problem...

Warning: this is a little gross

Lilo had managed to eat what we thought to be string and was having trouble passing it. So I was holding her on my lap waiting for DBF to arrive. We discussed it and then decided it'd be best to take her to the emergency vet.

So, we arranged to have some friends come pick up Otis (since he's never stayed home alone without Lilo before) and then we headed to the vet. Well it turned out that she not only ate string but also a small piece of plastic that had to be manually removed.

I'm so glad we took her and she got the help she needed. We were allowed to bring her home but had to watch her for 24 hours after to make sure she wasn't showing any signs of further obstructions. But needless to say, we never had movie night.

We're hoping to try again tonight but we'll see. If everything goes to plan though, I'll have some pictures to post tomorrow! Until then, here's some pictures of my puppies:

In March, we had breakfast at the Poly with Lilo & Stitch and (my) Lilo happened to get in my suitcase, find the lei I was given, drag it down the stairs and wrap it around herself.. this is how we found her:

I am so happy to hear that everything turned out ok for lilo and he is doing well. It sure gives you a scare though. We have 3 dogs ourselves and if anything bad happened to them we would be so upset.....well goodluck with your next movie night and take care.

I like option 1 too. I didn't read any further after yo usaid "this is gross" LOL! But your puppies are so cute and I hope she is doing ok now.
I have your sweatshirt boxed up and ready to go. This week has flown by so fast. I plan to have it in the mail Monday!

Haha yea, it was a very yucky situation and not much fun to explain to the vet... But she's doing much better now!
No hurry on the sweatshirt, I know how crazy things can be when you first get back. But thank you again for getting it!

DBF and I finally got to have our first movie night last Friday. It had been diverted to Friday after our trip to the emergency vet on Tuesday. So, for our first official movie night, we watched:

Finding Nemo!

We had Shrimp (fried), fish niblets (corn), and goldfish in sea anemone (goldfish crackers in mac & cheese):

I had a lot of fun but DBF slept through the 2nd part of the movie... Oh well, we'll try again on Tuesday.

Thanks, I love them! I got 4 for $10 at my local Disney store using my $10 coupon that I received from pre ordering Tangled. Dbf complains that they don't hold enough food though

Aww, how cute. I am not hungry for mac and cheese!

I hadn't had mac & cheese in a long time so I was loving it, it was like reliving my childhood

Movie night sounds fun. I can't get Aidan to sit through a movie at home ever. He makes it about a quarter of the way through when his PS3 or guitar start calling to him.

Your puppies are so cute. I miss my dog so much!! :sad2:

Haha yea, DBF doesn't have a very good track record either seeing as he's slept through the second half of all the movies so far...

Thanks! I missed my dogs while I was gone for a week in FL, I couldn't imagine being away like you are!

Day 2: May 7, 2011 - Hollywood Studios / Race Day

Despite having a late night with Extra Magic Hours at Epcot, we'll be up bring and early the next morning for more Extra Magic Hour fun. The plan is to catch a bus to Hollywood Studios between 7 and 7:15am. The park is open for EMH 8am-9am. When it does open, we'll join everyone else on the mad dash to Toy Story Mania. The plan is to grab a fast pass and then hop in line and ride. Once the craziness is over, we'll head over to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. I'm hoping the line won't be too crazy yet and we'll just wait to ride. After jamming through the back streets of Hollywood, we'll head over to Tower of Terror. Once again, I'm counting on the lines not being too bad yet.

Once we've gotten the thrill rides out of our system, we'll head over to the Art of Animation building to learn to draw one of our favorite characters. I didn't know this but when I ask DBF which park was his favorite he said Hollywood Studios and when I asked why, these four things (including drawing) were the reason. Now, once we've accomplished all of this, everything else is kind of a bonus. Which means it's also not in the "plan" and will be more of a just go with it thing. Right before heading to lunch, we'll head over to use our Fast Passes for Toy Story Mania. Now, the original plan was to leave once we were finished. Then we would just eat dinner at the hotel before the race. Well, DBF decided yesterday that he didn't like this plan. So, now we'll be having a table service lunch at Hollywood & Vine at 1:30pm. We basically chose this restaurant because it's the only one I haven't been to for lunch/dinner and in the hopes that the buffet will have something to suit both of our pre-race food choices.

As soon as lunch is over, we'll be heading to the bus stop to head back to our resort. The rest of the afternoon will be focused on rest and relaxation. We'll probably take a nap but I'm not sure if it'll be in the room or by the pool (in the shade of course, to avoid the sun draining us).

The haven't released the final race instructions yet but based on my experience with the ESPN 5k, we'll probably catch a bus to Animal Kingdom around 6:45pm or maybe a little later. The race starts at 8:30pm. It's a 3.1 mile course through Animal Kingdom park and consists of several obstacle courses along the way. After you finish the 5k portion, you are given clues for the scavenger hunt. This starts right outside the main entrance to the park and finishes in Asia. Once you've completed the scavenger hunt, you can head to the post race after party. The party is from 9:30pm - 1:00am and the only parts open are Kali River Rapids, Dinoland USA area, Dinosaur, and Expedition Everest.

We'll probably head for Everest first and ride that a couple times before heading to some of the other areas. I may even brave Kali River Rapids before we leave (usually we skip it because we don't want to get wet).

Then, it'll be time to head back to the hotel to get as much sleep as possible.

What kind of things do they give away in the scavenger hunt and I know you haven't done it yet but I have always wanted to do the drawings at the art of animation but just never seems to work out. Hope it works out for you and dbf. I wish we had a disney store close by to bye all the cools little plates and other stuff.....take care. Jeff.

It seems liek the park will be very busy with only those few aras open. Do the yserve food too? Ok, yes, I'm the one worried about the food. LOL!
